Introduction:COLLEGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR COLLEGE (CMS). CMS is an Internet based application that aims at providing information to all the levels of management within an organization. This system can be used as a information management system for the college. For a given student/staff (Technical / Non-technical) the Administrator creates login id & password, using these student/ staff (Technical / Non-technical) can access the system to either upload or download some information from the database. There are mainly three type of users.

Objective of project:Our main objective is that the students and staff can anytime update themselves with any kind of information. The user can login to access information, view/change his/her details. The admin can remove uploads.

Basic Details:The front-end will be HTML pages with Java Script for client side validation where as all business logics will be in Java reside at middle layer. And these layers will interact with third layer of database, which will be MySql database. The web server will be Tomcat5.5. To start working on this project environment required is a server having Tomcat5.5 as web server, Oracle10g as database and Java Runtime Environment (JRE) as development environment.

Functional requirement:Admin who will govern the system, staff to view or add students details, student, a login system.

Application of our project:1.The administrator governs the working of the system. 2.The staff can view the students details. 3.A mechanism to uniquely identify each student

4.The students can view their marks/attendance/exam


schedules . 5.The system should have a login. 6.The system should have help feature.

Advantages:1. 2. 3. 4. Very fast searching operations. Very small software. Useful. feasible

Limitations:1. It works well with the windows only.

2. Blind cannot use without help of any other person because of keyboard. 3. It also need at least 256 MB RAM.

Future Scope:1.Online examination module would be introduced to conduct


online examination. 2. Scheduling of the staff. i.e. , time table setting of the staff. 3. Further, the faculty can upload the videos of their lectures on to this site and students who had missed those classes can view

those videos

Conclusion
2.The project entitled as College Management System is the system that deals with the issues related to a particular institution.

3.This project is successfully implemented with all the features mentioned in system requirements specification. 4.The application provides appropriate information to users according to the chosen service. 5.The project is designed keeping in view the day to day problems faced by a college.
