 There is no specific problem for specific classes, it is the

intensity that vary in classes.

Psychological and social problems are two way thing, the

psychological problem can creates a social issue and a it can be reverse

Sometimes upper class promotes a social issues in the

lower classes.

 Pattern of behavioral or psychological symptoms that

impact multiple life areas and/or create distress for the person experiencing these symptoms.

 Depression: Depression is a "whole-body" illness,

involving your body, mood, and thoughts. It affects the way you eat and sleep, the way you feel about yourself, and the way you think about things
It is also found in lower classes but its intensity in upper

class is high in Pakistan.

Causes: A serious loss, constant illness, relationship

problems, work stress, family crisis, financial setback, or any unwelcome life change

 According to JPPS Journal of Pakistan Psychiatric

Society, females suffer from depression twice as much as the males.

A study was conducted during 2000-04 studying

depression in upper class 33% patients were males and 67% were females
Major Causes in Pakistan: Marital/impersonal Conflicts,

bereavement, loss in business, work stress, living far from children, divorce, traumatic experience, low selfEsteem

 Depression causes other psychological problems like Social Phobia/Anxiety: during depression, social withdrawal is common creating fear from social interaction and situation called social phobia. The reverse is also possible.
Example: upper class in Pakistan has a low self esteem, so

they are fearful of embarrassment so they feel uncomfortable while performing in front of others

 Social phobia results in adjustment disorder, as social

interaction is difficult the adjustment in different situation also becomes difficult.

Females in upper class of Pakistan suffer from marital

conflicts, they also suffer from adjustment disorder, adjustment becomes difficult and takes the marriage towards divorce, a social problem

 Childhood problems are common in upper class of

Pakistan Consider the following situations common in Pakistan

Both parents are working Businessman father and mother with a huge social circle Businessman father and mother as a housewife owing a

nanny to take care of child Career oriented mother

All these situation create psychological problems for the

children

 These problems includes: Attention deficit disorder: lack of attention causes social anxiety, adjustment disorders and other psychological problems Separation Anxiety Disorder: it is almost same creating a fear of schools and social interaction with peers, it also creates academic adjustment disorder. Results: this results in depression, conduct disorders, no control over anger and attraction towards unhealthy activities like drugs, a social problem

 As the depression increases, anxiety also increases and

man lose control over himself. The major type of impulse control disorder is the Anger Control Problems causing violence and stealing This is also common in Pakistan as according to the earlier mentioned studies 3.6% females are suffering from domestic violence. This is also the case with the servants of the upper class families, people thrash their servants even on the basis of small doubts and mistakes

 All these psychological problems creates some social

problems like:
Depression causing suicides Childhood problems causing drug addiction and academic

disorders Impulse control disorders causing domestic violence

 Conditions which affect sizable proportion of the

population, which are out of harmony with the values of significant segment of the population, and which people dell can be improved or eliminated There is no specific social issues with upper class but the intensity and the cause of the problem make them for the specific class Some social problems are the cause of psychological problems and some social problem causes psychological problems

 Common social problems in upper class: Drug Addiction Alcoholism Domestic violence Corruption Divorce Promotion of child labor Faulty upbringing of children

 Drug Addiction & Alcoholism, a very common social

problem in Pakistan upper class. It is growing in females faster than men. Problems like depression (due to various reason), society phobia, domestic violence are the major causes of the increasing trend of drug addiction in Pakistan
According to a headmistress of a girls college in Lahore,

the causes of drug and alcoholism are:

lose weight, relieve stress or boredom, improve their mood,

reduce sexual inhibitions, self-medicate depression and increase confidence

 Domestic violence: defined as a pattern of abusive

behaviors by one or both partners in an intimate relationship such as marriage, dating, family, friends or cohabitation Its a major cause of depression, drug addiction and social phobia
One woman said she had suffered from physical, mental

and financial abuse before turning to drugs. I dont know why I didnt realize it, the woman, 42, said of her addiction, but I didnt deserve what my husband put me through.

 In moral discussion, corruption is moral impurity or

simply deviation from an ideal Upper class people in Pakistan are more involve in corruption including politicians
Example: A government official or his/her business partner

receiving money in exchange for awarding a contract, job, promotion or approving invoices for payment A policeman receiving money to drop charges against some one or receiving bribe from someone to arrest another person

 A very common problems of all social classes but the

causes are different in each. Divorce causes in upper class include:

Marital conflicts Impersonal conflicts Domestic violence

Social statuses differences

Career oriented women in upper class

 Majority of upper class prefer child labors instead of

adults in order to get cost advantages. Results:

Child labor promotion in society Physical and mental cruelty with children Increase in the illiteracy level of society Societys downgrading

All these situation causing a faulty upbringing of a

children children tend towards drugs and alcohol, they suffer from psychological disorders, lack of motivation, academic disorders, social anxiety and inferiority complex.

 There are no specific psychological or social problems for

the upper class the causes of these problems defines them whether its for upper , middle or lower class of society Psychological and social problems cant be isolated, they overlapped. Some psychological problems ultimately becomes the social problems and vice versa.
