TO RENOVATE CURRENT PARKING AND TO BUILD A NEW STACKER CAR PARKING SYSTEM PROPOSAL AT TAYLORS UNIVERSITY

PROBLEM STATEMENTS
1. The parking space insufficient especially during the peak hour at 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. 2. Students and staffs are getting frustrated and their time and energy are wasted just to find an empty parking lot. Thus, students and staffs are late to come to the class and office. 3. The improper condition of the parking space. 4. Students and staffs are inconvenienced because there is no rooftop pedestrian walkway.

OBJECTIVES

To provide sufficient parking spaces for the Taylors University staffs and students. To provide suitable parking condition so that untoward incidences of uneven parking lots can be prevented. To provide the students and staffs with sheltered pedestrian walkway from parking lots the university building. To reduce the stress and anguish among members of Taylors University

SIGNIFICANCES
1. Firstly, when the parking spaces provided are sufficient, the members will be happy and satisfied. In addition, time and energy can be saved because they can easily find the parking lots. Thus, students will not late to the class. Secondly, the members will eventually be motivated and focused to do their activities and thus productivity will also increase. Staff and students can enjoy the benefits of good parking facilities. When the university provides good facilities, it will attract more students from local and international to study in Taylors University.

PROCEDURES
1. 2. 3. 4. Build a team and select the team members that will be responsible to run this project from start until completion. Call for a meeting to elect the group leader and other committee members. Identify the present pros and cons of the current parking lot and what improvement that can be taken to satisfy the needs of consumer on this new parking lot. Work out the budget that will be used to renovate the old parking lot and for the construction of the new one and also the pedestrian way from the parking lot to the university building. To decide on the most suitable choice of the contactors after an open tender. Determine the source to fund this project.

LIMITATIONS
1. Students and staffs do not corporate during the survey, thus

making harder to get detailed information for the decision making

in order to improve the parking lots. 2. Not all students and staffs will give cooperation during the renovation and construction of the parking lots making that the situation more difficult than it is supposed to be. 3. Bad weather would cause the construction and renovation of the parking lots schedule is delayed. This will make the time taken is longer than the actual schedule to complete this project.

Conclusions
From this case, the conclusions that can be made are based on the observations, surveys and discussions. It can be concluded that:1)some of the current parking spaces that are provided are in very poor conditions as it is not tarred, and when it is raining, the condition can be worsen. 2)Students and staffs have to bear with the hotness or rain from the parking space to the universitys building. 3)The parking spaces provided are not enough making that the situation is chaotic especially during peak hours as everyone is searching for parking space.

Recommendations
Based on the observations, surveys and discussions that have been made earlier, there are some recommendations that can be implied to overcome the problems. 1)First of all, all the parking spaces that are not tarred will be tarred. In addition, when this improvement has been made, even during raining days, the space will not become muddy. 2)Other than that, the facility of rooftop pedestrian way is needed to give comfort for the students and staffs. 3)To overcome the main problem of inadequate of parking spaces is by built a new multi-level parking building. This is because, multi-level parking lots not only will save space but the numbers of parking lots is also more to compare with single- level parking lots.
