Objectives: M: Make clear the difference b/w sexuality in general act and the sex acts. D: Believe that God created every human person precisely as male and female in His own image and likeness W: regular personal prayer and sacramental life, especially contact with the Risen Christ in the Eucharist, the Sacrament of his universal love.

The 6th and the 9th Commandment

It forbid illicit sexual union and promiscuous sexual behaviors because of their social implication. Basically the commandments aim to protect the family.

6th and 9th Commandments:

Treat Human Sexuality in two areas: 1.In the relationship between men and women according to their social status (single or married) 2.In regard to the interior lustful dispositions of the heart.

ADULTERY
Means sexual course between two partners of different sex, of whom at least one is married, or of married persons with someone other than their spouse. It is a sin against chastity, justice and fidelity.

INNER REASONS WHY ADULTERY IS SINFUL:

Extra marital unions in general may bring

forth children who may not be given enough and proper care It destroys the love, harmony and stability in the family of married partners It violates the fidelity promised by the marriage partners to each other in the Sacrament of Matrimony

HUMAN SEXUALITY AND LOVE (In the Christian Point of View)

God created man in His image; in the divine image He created him; male and female He created them. (Gen. 1:27)

God created us sexual beings, but sexual act is nit all there is in our sexuality.

HUMAN SEXUALITY

is a fundamental component of personality, one of its modes of being, of manifestation, of communicating with others, of feeling, of expressing and living human love.

It is an essential dimension of the whole

person, which enables us to be open and enter into relationship with others

HUMAN SEXUALITY - is GODS GIFT TO US.

Sexuality is therefore a relational capacity, whether we relate with the same, or with the opposite sex. It is through this relational power that we show understanding, warmth, compassion, care for others.

GOD CREATED MALE AND FEMALE IN HIS IMAGE

Hence being a man and being a woman are two modes of imaging God. they are distinct but equal they have equal personal dignity Man and woman are both different and complimentary. Man and woman are called to mutual gift of self or reciprocity. Sexuality is for love.

Characteristics of sex as expressed in its proper form: 1. Conjugal union for married persons 2. Consecrated celibacy 3. Christian youths before choosing marriage 4. Single blessedness

MARRIED LOVE
the love that exists between man and woman in marriage. The affective life proper to man and woman in marriage is conjugal sexual union. The couple becomes one bodydoes not simply mean physical union but an intimate partnership of life and love, a unity in mind, heart, hopes, dreams and destiny. a power that enriches husband and wife and makes them grow

MARRIED LOVE
By existing with and for the other husband and wife realize their full existence. Married love thus becomes a power that enriches husband and wife and makes them grow.

MARRIED LOVE
When such love is absent in marriage and the sense of gift is lacking in sexuality, persons become things: the wife becomes an object of pleasure for the husband; children, obstacles to parents.

MARRIED LOVE
The goals of marriage are conjugal love and offspring. If sexuality is for LOVE, then it must also be for LIFE. (CFC, 1922)

CELIBATE LOVE
Celibate loving is the freely chosen vocation of religious, priests and the lay people who have opted to remain single. They choose virginity for the Kingdom of God so that they can serve God and do His work with undivided love (CFC, 1939)

CELIBATE LOVE
Though they renounce sexual acts they do not renounce sexuality. The manifestation of masculinity and femininity remains important. Tenderness, warmth, gentleness, compassion, etc. intheir proper context and meaning, are particular expressions of celibate loving, which concretize Gods love for His people.
