Support media:
A Support media is what you use as a tool while doing a presentation. It acts as a support for you & helps you convey your message easily. E.g.: PPT, Flip charts/ Chart Papers & Whiteboard. Make full & effective use of the support media.

How to use the support media:

Make sure that each and every participant can see the information on the support media. Do not address the class facing towards the support media. Make sure that the support media is visible from all locations of the training room. The content in the support media should be in point forms, avoid the use long sentences. Avoid reading from the support media.

Use of chart papers/ flip charts:

When preparing your charts, it is best to first design your charts on paper first before drawing them on the actual flip chart pad. Avoid using too many colors. Using one dark color and one accent color works best. Avoid using the colors yellow, pink, or orange. These are extremely difficult for the audience to see.

Use of Power Point Presentations:

PowerPoint is just a tool. You determine how effective or ineffective your presentation is. Dont Read from the Screen. Maintain Eye Contact with your Audience. Avoiding using too many words in a slide. AVOID USING ALL UPPERCASE LETTERS IT LOOKS AS IF YOU ARE YELLING.

Use of Power Point Presentations:

Plan on two minutes per slide (that would be 25 slides in a 50 minute class)
Remember: we read left to right and from top to bottom. We tend to see graphics first, then text. Keep a logical flow of information. Keep text simple and concise. Summarize sentences into bullets.

Use of Power Point Presentations:

Use mild colors. Dark & glossy colors often cause distraction. Use appropriate font which is clearly visible to everybody in the class. Avoid Intersecting or coming across the beam of the projector, as it causes distraction. Once concept per slide.

Use of Whiteboard:
Always use Black or blue colored markers, red & green markers are usually used to denote or underline important points. Avoid Writing & speaking at the same time. Do not face towards the Whiteboard and address the class. Avoid Holding the maker in your hand while addressing the class.

Please wipeout the old content on the whiteboard before starting a new topic.
