In 1960, of the 52,799,000 households, only 439,000 were unmarried cohabitants as opposed to 10,470,500 households in 2000. In the 2000, there were 4,736,000 unmarried cohabitants in the United States.

Its a social ritual from the very ancient age of the world. Previously it was being conducted on the basis of religious rules and now it has been done also in legal form.

Problems Regarding Live Together

Socially not accepted in many countries. Reduces trust worthiness among the couple. Family planning becomes a challenge as couple may fear of losing their individual freedom. It becomes complicated to set up the future of the children. If the relationship doesnt work then they can get separated easily which brings the life of their children at stake.
