What is Accessibility?
For Cisco Networking Academy, accessibility means providing access to our curricula for people with disabilities There are several types of disabilities, including:
Visual such as blind, low vision, color blindness
Hearing and speech deaf, hard of hearing, mute Physical mobility and dexterity impairment

The accessible CCNA curricula will conform with exceptions to U.S. and international guidelines including:
Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (U.S.) Americans with Disabilities Act (U.S.) W3C- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (Global) Most countries have employment, design and manufacture, and procurement laws similar to ADA and Section 508 - we highlighted these laws as they are the most typical and stringent

Delivery of Accessible CCNA Curricula


Users must select Accessible in their Academy Connection profile to view assessments in accessible format
Also sets online curricula view to accessible format by default

The accessible CCNA curricula will be available on the Course Materials page in two formats for each course
As a downloadable zip file containing only the accessible version Viewable online from the existing launch page users can select either the standard (default) or the accessible version of the course

Instructor materials in accessible format will be available on the Tools Page for each course
Interactive Course Guide link to accessible HTML version Instructor Reference Guide and PPT (accessible PDFs)

Accessible Content Availability


All CCNA Discovery and CCNA Exploration courses will be available in accessible format on June 24, 2008 Text Descriptions for media objects in curriculum content
Available in CCNA Discovery course 1 on June 24, 2008 Available for CCNA Discovery courses 2-4 by September 2008 Availability in CCNA Exploration courses to follow

The Packet Tracer application and activities will NOT be available in accessible format
Planned for a future release, date TBD

Translated CCNA Discovery and CCNA Exploration courses


All translated courses released after July 1, 2008 will be available in an accessible format Translated courses released before July 1, 2008 do not include the accessibility features, but accessible versions will be available on Academy Connection at a later date.
