In 2003, AMD debuted the Opteron for servers and high-end workstations, the first 64-bit x86compatible CPU on the market. AMD announced a merger Technologies on July 24, 2006. with ATI

In 2009, AMD ranked eighth among semiconductor manufacturers in terms of revenue.
