EARLY YEARS
His parentswere FelipeLlerastrianaand Sofia camargo guerrero. After beingorphanedof his father,his educationwas in the handsof his uncles.He later studiedat the College oft theCollegeMayor de NuestraSeora delRosario. He beganstudying lawat the University ofRosario,butsoon abandoned.He spenthis earlyyouthto journalism,thenintercalaraactivitywith politics.In 1926he traveledto Argentina where he workedin the Nation.In 1929he returnedto Bogota, after abrief stint inEurope, and wasmanaging editor ofTime and editor of the dailynewspaper LaTarde.He marriedBertha 4/20/12 ChileanPuga,andthey had fourchildren

Althoughhe enjoyedgreat popularity untilhis death, as it was concerningand chiefof all the governmentsafterhis (liberaland conservative), neverran forreelection.He devoted much ofhis energiesto journalism, as chairmanof the editorial boardof the journalVision,weekandas a columnist forseveral publications. He died inBogotin 1990.
