INTRODUCTION
An engineer or an architect usually has a blueprint of the bridge or building to be constructed. A teacher also needs a blueprint of what he intends to build whether this be attitude, habits, skills, or knowledge. The lesson plan is the teachers blueprint.
4. Materials
A carpenter cannot work without his tools. Likewise the teacher needs materials that will facilitate the teaching process. He should list the materials he will need in a learning situation
5. Understanding of Objectives
This includes the aims of education especially of Philippine Education, the aims of the course or subject, and the aims of the specific lessons. Otherwise the recitation will have no direction and nothing much will be accomplished.
In Lesson Planning, problems will come up and errors will be committed, as one continuous making lesson plans, this will disappear, for it is by continuous practice that one attains skill and proficiency. Problems and errors should serve as basis for improvement.
Bossing, defines a lesson plan as A statement of achievements to be realized and the specific means by which these are to be attained as a result of the activities engaged in day by day under the guidance of the teacher.
I. Objective:
S Specific M Measurable A Attainable R Resource Oriented T Time bounded
III. Strategy/Procedure:
-Unlocking of difficulties (as the need) -Simple recall -Motivation should attract the pupils attention. Note: In this area, it should consume only less time. -Presentation -The teacher should have more explanations before going on to the grouping activity. HOTS questions be imposed.
Groupings:
-Varied activities be done to enhance mastery of the lesson. -Give instruction and assign pupils to act out as leaders and do the reporting. -In reporting, it will also help the pupils to overcome their shyness, so there is a need to have the rotation basis on the part of the reporters everyday. -While the activity is going on, the teachers should roam around to ensure if they are doing right on their given tasks.
Application:
-Give the child to express or apply what he has learned from the development of the lesson. -Generalization: -The teacher should guide/assist the pupils in arriving at the generalization. It should be written on the board for them to read and take notes.
Evaluation:
-Formative assessment should be five (5) item test only. -It should be congruent to the objective. -Results should not be recorded in the pupils progress record. -For every formative test given it should have the mastery level (ML).
1. What is the importance of having the ML in your lesson plan? - To determine if there is mastery of the lesson taught. 2. If the ML is below 75%, what should you do as a teacher? - Reteaching be done with the same objective but of different activities to ensure mastery of the lesson. 3. If the ML is above the 75% mastery, what should you do then? - Proceed to the next lesson.
V. Assignment/Agreement
-It maybe the off-shoot of the days lesson -An advanced assignment -Note: The assignment should be checked to ensure that the pupils are really working on it, and to help them develop their study habit.
