THEORY

Binet soon turned to his two girls for study. What fascinated him was the difference between the two girls. When Binet became a member of the Commission for the Retarded he made it his mission to define the differences between children of different mental capacities. He developed tests with Theodore Simons and together they developed the Binet-Simon scale.

Alfred

Binet made the Binet -Simon scale which was a variety of tasks for children at certain ages to take to see if they are capable of doing things that other kids their age are able to do, they become more and more complex as you go on.

HOW HE WAS DISCOVERED

In his study of children's developments Binet compared and contrasted of gifted and developmentally delayed children. He attempted to find ways to predict their intelligence such as their handwriting. The study of this area had him discovered when the French government approached him in 1904. They asked him to make recommendation for the education of the mentally retarded children .

This provoked Binet to renew his efforts to create a diagnostic tool which could measure an individual child's intellectual ability. Which was in order to place children in classes appropriate to their cognitive abilities. After this discovery he had the help from Theodore Simon to develop the Binet-Simon scale.
