CAD MODEL OF AIRCRAFT WING STRUCTURE

STATUS OF WORK
F E Modeling of the Aircraft wing Assembly is performed by using HYPER MESH Software.
The Element Type is considered for the Analysis is PSHELL (First Order Element). Applications of Boundary Conditions and Loads is performed by using HYPER MESH.

Materials Considered For the Analysis

COMPOSITE MATERIAL (CARBON EPOXY FIBER MATERIALS) High-performance aircraft require an extra high strength-toweight ratio material. Fabrication of composite materials satisfies this special requirement. Composite materials are constructed by using several layers of bonding materials (graphite epoxy or boron epoxy). These materials are mechanically fastened to conventional substructures. Another type of composite construction consists of thin graphite epoxy skins bonded to an aluminum honeycomb core. Carbon fiber is extremely strong, thin fiber made by heating synthetic fibers, such as rayon, until charred, and then layering in cross sections.

ALUMINIUM
Aluminium is a silvery white member of the boron group of chemical elements. It has the symbol al and its atomic number is 13. It makes up about 8% by weight of the earth's solid surface. Aluminium is too reactive chemically to occur in nature as a free metal. Instead, it is found combined in over 270 different minerals. The chief source of aluminum is bauxite ore. Aluminium is remarkable for the metal's low density and for its ability to resist corrosion due to the phenomenon of passivation. Structural components made from aluminum and its alloys are vital to the aerospace industry and are very important in other areas of transportation and building.

Application of hypermesh software
Altair HyperMesh is a high-performance finite-element pre-processor for popular finite-element solvers. It allows engineers to analyze product design performance in a highly interactive and visual environment. HyperMeshs user interface is easy to learn and supports a number of CAD geometry and finite-element model file formats, thereby increasing interoperability and efficiency. Advanced functionality within Hypermesh allows users to efficiently manipulate geometry and mesh highly complex models. These functionalities include extensive meshing and model control, morphing technology to update existing meshes to new design proposals and automatic mid-surface generation for complex designs with varying wall thicknesses. Solid geometry enhances tetra-meshing and hexa-meshing by reducing interactive modeling times, while batch meshing enables large scale meshing of parts with no manual clean-up and minimal user input.
