THIS CONSISTS OF FOLLOWING EQUIPMENTS
MAIN OIL TANK MAIN OIL PUMP (TURBINE DRIVEN) AUXILARY OIL PUMP (2X100% AC OPERATED) EMERGENCY OIL PUMP (1X100% DC OPERATED) JACKING OIL PUMP (2X100% AC / DC OPERATED) OIL VAPOUR EXHAUSTERS (2X100%) OIL COOLERS (2X100%) DUPLEX OIL FILTERS (LUB OIL & JACKING OIL) SEAL OIL STORAGE TANK TEMP CONTROL, BUTTERFLY, PR LIMIT VALVES

OIL SUPPLY AND RETURN
DURING START UP & SHUT DOWN, AOP RUNS MOP TAKES OVER AT 2800 rpm ADEQUATE SUCTION PRESSURE TO MOP CREATED BY 2 INJECTORS TO AVOID CAVITATION IN MOP DISCHARGE PRESSURE OF MOP/AOP IS 8 BAR OIL SUPPLY TO BEARINGS ROUTED THROUGH OIL COOLER & TEMP CONTROL VALVE TO MAINTAIN OIL SUPPLY AT 45 DEG C DUPLEX OIL FILTER DOES NOT ALLOW SOLID PARTICLES (>37 MICRON) TO BEARINGS

OIL SUPPLY AND RETURN
EOP (DC OPERATED) DISCHARGES OIL DIRECTLY TO BEARINGS IN THE EMERGENCY POWER MODE BEARING OIL RETURNS TO MOT THROUGH GRAVITY DRAINAGE DUE TO HIGH HYDROGEN CONCENTRATION, RETURN OIL FROM GENERATOR BEARINGS IS PASSED VIA SEAL OIL STORAGE TANK TO DEGASIFY IT BEFORE RELEASING TO MOT

JACKING (LIFTING) OIL
DURING START UP & SHUT DOWN, JOP RUNS TO LIFT TG ROTORS FOR BARRING OPERATION JOP IS A SCREW TYPE PUMP AND DICHARGES OIL AT 180 BAR ONE OF THE TWO JOP IS DC OPERATED TO ENSURE OIL SUPPLY TO BEARINGS IN THE EMERGENCY POWER MODE JACKING OIL SUPPLY TO BEARINGS ROUTED THROUGH A PRESSURE LIMIT VALVE TO ENSURE OIL SUPPLY AT A CONSTANT SET PRESSURE OF 178 BAR JACKING OIL FILTER ALSO RESTRICTS SOLID PARTICLES (>37 MICRON) TO BEARINGS

MISC DRAINS & VENTS
OIL VAPOUR EXHAUSTER CREATES A SLIGHT NEGATIVE PRESSURE IN MOT, BEARING SHELLS TO ELIMINATE POSSIBILITY OF ANY FIRE HAZARD OIL PURIFIER SEPARATES SOLID PARTICLES & WATER CONTENT (UPTO 500 PPM) FROM OIL AND THUS SUPPLY CLEAN OIL TO THE SYSTEM DRAINS & VENTS ARE PROVIDED TO SEVERAL OIL EQUIPMENTS SUCH AS OIL COOLER, DUPLEX OIL FILTERS, MOT, ETC TO FACILITATE HASSLE FREE DRAINAGE FOR REPAIR & MAINTENANCE WORK AND PROPER VENTING DURING START UP ENSURE BUBBLE FREE OPERATION OF LUB OIL SYSTEM

LUBRICATION

HYDRODYNAMIC LUBRICATION
Turbine bearings are hydro dynamically Lubricated. For this to happen following things are important 1. Viscosity of oil which is directly related to the oil Temperature. 2. Rotation/speed of the Rotor. 3. Desired Clearances/Converging Wedge in the Bearings. (convergence should be in the direction of rotation) In fact the Pressure of the Lube oil is mainly just to ensure that oil reaches the Bearing. However it is also very important and requires to be maintained as per design.

LUBRICATION
As rotor rotates at low speed ,initially there is no film lubrication but as its speed increases there is conversion of boundary layer lubrication into Film lubrication. From zero speed to appx. 540 RPM there is no continuos film between rotor and bearings and there is chance of rubbing between rotor and Bearing. Therefore JOP is used to prevent the contact between rotor and bearings. At Above 540 RPM the JOP can be Switched off, as film lubrication comes into picture.

HYDROSTATIC LUBRICATION In Hydrostatic type of Lubrication the Rotor itself is lifted by high external Lube oil pressure generated by screw pumps.
