1: Why we chose the topic

We chose this topic because of the math problem that Yoon gave us. Yoon brought us a problem about factorization and we all thought that it would be interesting to research about factorization. Also, factorization was in our latest midterm, so we thought it would be very easy to absorb all the information.

1: Why it is useful, when you can

use it
We use factorization to make it easier to get the right solution(s) by making it simpler. It is easy to get the solution of quadratic equation since there is a formula but if there is a cubic or quadratic equation, it is very hard to get the solution of it. In this situation, we can use factorization when we simplify the polynomial so that we can get the solution easily. It becomes very useful when we try to get the solution of a polynomial that has a high degree in real life.

2: Definition
Factorization or factoring is the decomposition of an object (for example, a number, a polynomial, or a matrix) into a product of other objects, or factors, which when multiplied together give the original. For example, the number 15 factors into primes as 3 5, and the polynomial x2 4 factors as (x 2)(x + 2). In all cases, a product of simpler objects is obtained.
Ex) (x-1)(x-4)-4 : not a product of polynomials => Not factorized perfectly

2: Process
Because there is no known absolute method to carry it out quickly, Integer factorization for large integers appears to be a difficult problem. However, we can factorize various polynomials by basic formulas. If the degree of a polynomial gets bigger, we can also use a 'synthetic division() to factorize polynomials.
Example Question: bc^3-abc^2-b^2c^2+abc=bc(a+b)(c-b) Find the common factor use formula

3: Key Problem & Solution

Problem: Show that when the number 1367631(b) is changed to a number in the decimal system, it will be a cubed number regardless of the value of b (b is a natural number).
*Solution is to be shown on the blackboard by our teams member 3.
