The Story so Far1980s

30 years ago Enterprises needed a way to manage all the electronic content they were creating

The Story so Far.1990s

So a whole industry grew up that became known as Enterprise Content Management

Then in 2005 Alfresco was born

The last 10 years saw the industry mature with consolidation, open-source

And we should not forget

and SharePoint. Enterprise 2.0 & Collaboration technology became the flavor of the day as CIOs realized end users wanted to collaborate, not manage content

But then.2010s

However before these new technologies could change the world, something else happened

2010s The consumerisation of IT

Consumer technology, Mobile, The Cloud & Freemium handed over the power to choose to end users

But New Cloud tools bring challenges

Internet bullies impersonate dead teenager on Facebook to message his grieving mother "I'm not really dead" Dropbox under fire for security concerns

Megaupload Shut Down by FBI

(Who are now reading your content)

The Story so Far.2010s

Your Content is somewhere here:

So now CIOs face a new problemhow to control their content in a Cloud world where end users can decide which tools they use

2012
Alfresco aims to disrupt the industry again, with the power of the cloud
