Students are able to explain, what is the greenhouse effect? Students know the cause and effect of greenhouse effect. Students can relate between the greenhouse effect and global warming.

DEFINITION

INTRODUCTION
LEARNING OUTCOME DEFINITION & FACTORS PROCESS EFFECTS QUIZES SUMMARY

Greenhouse is a building that is use to plant vegetables during winter. Greenhouse is build to trap heat from sunlight and ensure the plant can grow during winter.

A greenhouse effect is an effect occurring in the atmosphere because of the presence of greenhouse gasses such as carbon dioxide that absorb suns radiation.

INTRODUCTION
LEARNING OUTCOME DEFINITION & FACTORS PROCESS EFFECTS QUIZES SUMMARY

The green house effect will occur when there is the presence of greenhouse gasses.

Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere behave a lot like the glass panes of a greenhouse which trap the heat and warm the greenhouse. These are the greenhouse gasses: Carbon dioxide Chlorofluorocarbon Methane Nitrous oxide Water vapour

PROCESS OF GREENHOUSE EFFECT

Part of the heat energy that reaches the Earths surface is absorbed into the Earth. The heat energy in the atmosphere is also absorbed by carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. As a result, the heat energy is trapped in the lower atmospheric level, causing the Earths temperature to increase. The effect is similar to that occurring in a greenhouse where the suns similar to that occurring in a greenhouse where the suns radiation and ultraviolet radiation that penetrate the glass panels of the greenhouse are not totally reflected back to the atmosphere. The overall effect is that the average temperature of the Earth and its atmosphere is increased resulting in the greenhouse effect. NEXT

Visible energy from the sun passes through the glass & heats the ground.

Infrared heat energy from the ground is partly reflected by the glass, and some is trapped inside the greenhouse.

EFFECTS OF GREENHOUSE EFFECT

INTRODUCTION
LEARNING OUTCOME DEFINITION & FACTORS PROCESS EFFECTS QUIZES SUMMARY

As the concentration of greenhouse gases rises, more heat will be trap in the atmosphere and raising the Earths average temperature.

The global warming : overall rise in the average temperature of the Earths atmosphere. The increase in atmospheric temperature is high enough to cause changes in the global climate.
