Policies @ PNB
Anti-Virus Management The enterprise-wide antivirus software is installed in the data centre and antivirus agents are installed in each of the branch systems The antivirus agents should be programmed to run automatically at scheduled timings and should do real-time monitoring of the system. Bypassing of the in-built scanning process is strictly prohibited At pre-scheduled timings, the antivirus updates should be downloaded automatically onto the local systems and real-time system monitoring should be operational System Administrator should ensure that Anti Virus Software is installed in all Computer Terminals. The System Administrator shall be responsible for the management of antivirus Every desktop/ laptop should have the anti-virus working for the duration it is working In case laptops are connected to any other network than PNB, they must be scanned every time they are connected back to the PNB network. It is the laptop users responsibility to ensure the same System Administrator / In-charge must run anti-virus software on all network file servers on a regular basis Any information or files downloaded from the Internet, Mail attachments must be scanned for viruses before opening/ accessing them Any electronic information being brought into PNBs IT environment with removable media e.g. diskettes, tapes, USB sticks etc. must be scanned with the antivirus before the files contained in them are opened If a virus attack is suspected, the suspect personal computer must be immediately removed from the network; and the immediate higher authority and System Administrator must be informed immediately who must in turn inform various escalation points depending upon the priority and criticality of the situation The users of the PCs and laptops must not be given administrator access unless authorized. users must be specifically created and only those user ids must be used by the users Users must enter passwords before getting system and network access Users must not change the name of computers and IP address assigned.
