In this position, he provided artific...voir plusJJohn Frauens, MD, served as an orthopaedic surgeon with Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program in Honolulu, Hawaii, for nearly three decades. In this position, he provided artificial hip and knee replacement services as well as various activities in areas of musculoskeletal surgical oncology. Between 1985 and 1991, he also held the position of chief of orthopedics at Kaiser Permanente, and from 1984 to 2010, he served as director of the Total Joint Service in Kaiser Permanente’s Department of Orthpaedic Surgery. After leaving Kaiser Permanente, John Frauens joined the State of Hawaii Department of Public Safety as an orthopaedic surgeon in the division of corrections, where he continues to serve today.
Beyond his professional activities as an orthopaedic surgeon, John Frauens, MD, serves on the board of directors for Common Grace, a nonprofit organization that identifies at-risk school children and pairs them with a mentor from a nearby Christian church. When he is not working or supporting charities, he enjoys playing golf, scuba diving, skiing, and collecting and repairing old muscle cars, such as his 1967 Pontiac convertible GTO.voir moins
