910712 Appendix A: Command Menus Page A~27
‘On this screen the data contents of a block of memory (RAM or EPROM) can be displayed. The size of the block is #FF
(-256) addresses, where # is the sign for hexadecimal notation.
‘As the full memory capacity { the microprocessor is one megabyte, the address selection is in two parts:
1. Asegment value.
2. Anofiset value.
‘The microprocessor shifts the segment value one position to the let, then adds the two values to find the memory ad-
dress. For the example shown above, the addition is as follows:
#A4aE3
F320
Segment Value:
Offset value: +
Address: #34250
Each line shows 16 addresses, the value of the byte stored at that address is shown as a hexadecimal value. For exam-
plo, the first address contains the byte ‘4A’, this corresponds to a binary value of 01001010". the contents correspond
toa printable ASC character (Hex. values 20107€), the characteris shown in the table on the right of the screen. This
translation is done even if the code is not intended as text.
Selections can be made on the bottom line for a single read cycle or a continuous reading and for going to the next or
previous blocks.
Ifthe special test mode is selected, the extra facility if offered to write data to the RAM addresses. I this s done great
care must be taken not to destroy valuable RAM data or start actions which are in conflict with the spectrometer’s cur-
rent status.
A.4.6.4 Hexadecimal /O Space Access
This accesses the 64K bytes I/O space for XR-bus and USART's.

This screen makes it possible to access the VO space in a similar way to the memory space (see above).
As the total I/O space is 64k Bytes the address selection is etfected with one hexadecimal number between #0000 and
#FFFF, as shown.
