Program Notes
Fanfare for the World is truly a celebration of the amazing community of trombone players that
exists all over the world. Although many of us may never meet, we are all connected through
this passion we have for creating and performing through the medium of trombone.
This fanfare is dedicated to the all of the incredible people who make up the trombone community.

About the Composer

David Miller (b. 2004) went to high school at South Williamsport Jr./Sr. High School
in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He is currently a freshman at Ithaca College
in Ithaca, New York, where he studies with Rodrigo Bussad, lecturer in music composition.
In the past he has studied composition with Dr. Patrick Long, Associate Professor of Theory,
Composition, and Music Technology at Susquehanna University. He was selected to have a piece
premiered in the Outstanding Composition session at the 2022 PMEA All-State Festival.
