CYMBAL/SNARE COORDINATION

WITH SIXTEENTH NOTES

One of my previous articles dealt with jazz coordination between the cymbal and snare with triplets.
This article, on the other hand, deals with rock coordination between the cymbal and snare with
sixteenth notes. The following exercises demonstrate just 40 cymbal/snare rhythmic patterns. While
there are many other possible patterns not notated, if you can play each of the written exercises you
should automatically be able to perform any other sixteenth note rhythmic pattern between the
cymbal and snare.
