A Day In The Life

Clarinet and piano, 2009

For this short film I chose to use a clarinet in A for its uniquely dark and hollow sound.
This cue is in a popular idiom blending extended tertian harmonies with borrowed
chords. I tried to fully explore the range of the clarinet, including the chalumeau, clarion,
and the fuzzy-sounding throat tones.
