Roland CATTIN, my dad, created TIME SPORT INTERNATIONAL in

1987. Technical innovation has always been part of this adventure.

Le slogan de TIME a toujours t le dfi. Innovation technologique,

made in France, qualit, lgance, confort et passion sont des valeurs
que TIME a toujours privilgies. Nous pouvons tre fiers aujourdhui
davoir une marque aussi unique et toute lquipe de TIME se joint moi
pour remercier du fond du cur son fondateur, Roland CATTIN.
Il nous a malheureusement quitt le 19 Octobre dernier provoquant de
vives motions dans le monde du cyclisme. Un logieux article de presse
donnait pour titre: Le monde de la petite reine est orphelin.

unique brand and all our team is joining me to thank from the bottom
of our heart his founder, Roland CATTIN, who passed away on the
19th of October causing an emotional wave in the cyclist world.

It seems that TIME is now facing a new and maybe one of its biggest
challenge: carrying on the legacy of its founder, a challenge I aim to
take up.Time has always been a pioneer in the cycling industry and it
is my duty, to honour my dad, to make sure that Time continues with
these same values and keeps innovating.

as well as the AKTIV fork, illustrate our capacity to innovate.

Les vibrations issues de la route sont lorigine de nombreux
micro traumatismes articulaires. Les vibrations dtriorent
le confort de roulage, la tenue de route, la matrise et le
contrle que lon doit avoir de son vlo. Elles nuisent la

Aujourdhui, aprs des annes de dveloppement et le dpt

de trois brevets, TIME rvolutionne le monde du vlo en
lanant la fourche AKTIV.
Nos nombreuses tudes ont montr que la majeure partie
des vibrations tait amplifie par la fourche du vlo. Ainsi,
placs dans chaque fourreau de la fourche, les batteurs
dynamiques AKTIV attnuent ce phnomne vibratoire sa
source et au plus prs de la route. En vibrant eux-mmes
une frquence dtermine, ils dissipent les vibrations
ressenties au niveau de la selle, de la potence et du cintre.

Road vibrations are at the root of many micro-traumas to
the joints, affecting ride comfort, road holding, command
and control of the bike, thus compromising both safety
and performance.

Following several years of research and the application

of three patents, TIME revolutionizes the cyclist world
launching on the market the Aktiv fork. Our numerous
studies have shown that most of the vibrations were amplified
by the fork of the bike, we consequently placed in each
sleeve of the fork the AKTIV mass damper system; this
lessens the vibratory phenomenon at its source and as
close to the road as possible. By vibrating themselves
at a given frequency, they dissipate vibrations felt in the
seat, stem and handlebars.

Aucune autre technologie noffre une telle richesse de slection et une telle
prcision dans la localisation des diffrentes fibres utilises. En faisant le choix
du RTM ds ses dbuts, puis de tresser ses fibres, TIME profite aujourdhui dun
catalogue de plus de 100 tresses diffrentes. Plus de 25 nuances de fils et 17
machines de tressage permettent TIME de raliser ses tresses sur mesure, en
fonction des caractristiques souhaites.
Slectionnes, positionnes et orientes selon le besoin, les tresses construisent
couche aprs couche la structure du futur vlo.
RTM technology allows TIME to use a wide selection of fiber materials and precisely
position those materials to achieve the desired strength, weight and ride characteristics
of a specific frame.
TIME has used RTM from the beginning. We start with strands of fiber to weave our
own tubes. We then pull these tubes over wax mandrels defining exact and precise
shapes for the dry carbon tubes to conform too. The separate tubes are layered,
stitched, and tied together. Resin is added, under pressure and over time to create
the durable and precise structure of a TIME frame.
The TIME factory in Vaulx Milieu, France has 17 exclusive carbon fiber braiding
machines. 25 styles of weaves are used with various fibers to produce more than
100 different weaving patterns. TIME engineers select and position fibers of each
tube to maximize comfort and performance.

CMT permet de fabriquer des pices de formes
complexes et lgres.
Ce procd permet datteindre des taux de
fibres trs importants pour un niveau de
performance exceptionnel.

FEELING SENSATIONS
Chaque modle possde donc ses propres caractristiques et
procure des sensations uniques. Grce au RTM, TIME a toujours
associ confort et rendement. Les fibres VECTRAN, polyamide
aux proprits vibratoires absorbantes, places de faon cible et
directionnelle, gomment les vibrations dans le sens longitudinal.
Elles autorisent ainsi un confort dutilisation optimal et une parfaite
transmission de leffort de pdalage. De la mme faon, les rigidits
latrales et torsionnelles sont garanties par la qualit de nos fibres
haut de gamme dans les zones souhaites.
