Water is a necessity for almost all creatures. Water pollution is a pollution that involves any
contaminated water, whether from chemical, particulate, or bacterial matter. Causes of water
pollution are waste disposal, decaying organisms, and soil erosion. It is very dangerous
when water supplies are affected by these factors. The contamination is also possible to
happen in oceans, rivers, lakes, and underground reservoirs. Effects of this pollution are the
decrease of the quantity of drinkable water, lower water supplies and many animals are very
prone to illnesses caused by contaminated water. Humans are also affected through lack of
water supplies and infections.

Question 4

Read the text.

Hi! I’m Robert. I live with my parents and my elder sister Jessica in the south of England.
We are very friendly indeed. Our parents love us and help us if we ask them for help.

Our parents give us pocket money every week for our needs. My sister gets more money
because she studies at the college and she needs more money for transport and for lunch.
She also spends more money than I do. She often buys different rolls instead of lunch, thus
she saves her money. But the saved money she spends on lipsticks, mascara, creams,
shadows, eyelashes and other useless, to my mind, things which I even don’t know how to
name. I think she is a shopaholic because she buys something every day.

As for me I often try to save my pocket money. My parents have bought everything I
need. But sometimes I want an ice-cream and, of course, I buy it because I like it very much!
