Heinz Holliger et l’Orchestre de chambre de
Lausanne proposent ici, une vision particulière-
ment inspirée et inspirante de deux œuvres de
Schoenberg qui, si elles furent terminées à
quarante années de distance, témoignent fort
bien du langage du grand maître viennois avant
l’atonalité et le sérialisme.
En complément, une œuvre de jeunesse d’Anton
Webern, composée alors qu’il était encore l’élève
d’Arnold Schönberg, et résonnant du bonheur
éprouvé par Webern dans sa liaison avec celle
Heinz Holliger and the Orchestre de Chambre de SCHOENBERG
Lausanne present an exceptionally inspired
and inspiring vision of two works by Schoenberg VERKLÄRTE NACHT, OP.4
which, though separated by forty years, are both CHAMBER SYMPHONY NO.2, OP.38
highly representative of the great Viennese
master’s language before atonalism and serialism.
The coupling is an early work by Anton Webern,
written when he was still Schoenberg’s pupil,
HEINZ HOLLIGER
and resonating with the happiness the young ORCHESTRE DE CHAMBRE
composer felt in his relationship with his future
wife, Wilhelmine von Mörtl.
