Chez le boucher :
- Meat = viande
- Beef = boeuf
- Pork = porc
- Veal = veau
- Chicken = poulet (chicken breast = blanc de poulet)
- “Hello, can I have some veal meat please? = « bonjour, est-ce que je
pourrais avoir de la viande de veau svp ? »

The 5 W’s : What- , Why- , When- , Where- , Who- , How - .

- What = Quel(le), Qu - .
Ex : - What is your favorite dish ? = quel est ton plat préféré ?
What are you doing ? = qu’est-ce que tu fais ?
What time is it ? = quelle heure est il ?
- Why = Pourquoi.
Ex : - Why are you sad ? = pourquoi t’es triste ?
Why are you here ? = pourquoi es-tu ici ?
Why do you want to learn English ? = pourquoi tu veux apprendre
l’anglais ?
- When = Quand.
Ex : - When is your birthday ? = C’est quand ton anniversaire ?
When do you leave ? = quand est-ce que tu pars ?
When are summer holidays ? = c’est quand les vacances d’été ?
- Where = Où.
Ex : - Where is my son ? = où est mon fils ?
Where do you live ? = où vis tu ?
Where do you come from ? = d’où viens tu ?
- Who = Qui.
Ex : - Who are you ? = qui es tu ?
Who are your friends ? = qui sont tes amis ?
- How = Comment.
Ex : How are you ? = comment tu vas ?
How was your day ? = comment était ta journée ?
Vocaculaire :
 - Dish = un plat
- Sad = triste
- Here = ici
- To learn = apprendre
- Birthday = anniversaire
- To leave = partir
- Summer = été / holidays = vacances
- To live = vivre

Demander une direction :

Pour demander le chemin il y a 2 tournures principales :
- How can I go to (destination)? = comment je fais pour aller à ……
- Could (or Can) you tell me the way to (destination)? = Pouvez-vous (ou
Peux-tu) me dire le chemin pour aller à …. ?
Ex : - How can I go to the shopping mall ? = comment je fais pour aller au
centre commercial ?
- Could you tell me the way to the playground? = Pouvez-vous me dire le
chemin pour aller à l’air de jeux ?

Français Anglais
Route Street, road
Croisement, carrefour Crossroad
Feux de signalisation Traffic lights
Rond-point Roundabout
Sortie Exit
Gauche Left
Droite Right

Ex : - “ Hello ! Could you tell me the way to the cinema please?”

- “ Yes of course! You go straight on this street, turn right at the crossroad
and left at the traffic lights.”

➔ « Oui bien sûr ! Allez tout droit dans cette rue, tournez à droite au rond-
point et à droit au feu »
Vocabulaire de fin de cours :
- Fruits/vegetables = fruits/légumes
- Next to me = a cote de moi
- Hernie lombaire = slipped disc
- “I have pain in my back” = j’ai une douleur dans le dos
