INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the QEP Professional Bridge Saw, STK# 83012. The QEP 83012 is designed and manufactured for utmost reliability and high functioning standards throughout the years. This owners manual contains important instructions regarding the preparation of the Bridge Saw on site and all the necessary information about spare parts, cleaning and maintenance. It is essential for the operator to have suitable experience and a good understanding of the Bridge Saw. The operator must read, know and adhere strictly to all the instructions contained in this owners manual, both those regarding cutting operations and those concerning ordinary and special maintenance procedures. The owners manual must be considered as a part of the Bridge Saw and must therefore be kept with it at all times. In case this owners manual is damaged or lost, the operator can request a new copy from QEP. Special attention must be given to the parts of the owners manual listed under: WARNING: THIS INDICATES OPERATIONS AND PARTS OF THE BRIDGE SAW, WHICH ARE POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS TO THE CORRECT FUNCTIONING/THE LIFE OF THE BRIDGE SAW, AND ITS PARTS. DANGER: THIS INDICATES OPERATIONS OR PARTS OF THE BRIDGE SAW, WHICH ARE POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS TO THE OPERATOR.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BRIDGE SAW

WARNING: ANY TYPE OF REPAIRS OR MAINTENANCE MUST BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE BRIDGE SAW DISCONNECTED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY. Read the owners manual carefully before installing, starting and using the bridge saw or carrying out maintenance work or any other type of work on the saw. 1. Do not allow unauthorized personnel to work on the bridge saw. 2. Do not wear rings, watches, jewelry, loose or torn clothing that could get caught in the moving parts. 3. Always keep long hair tied back. 4. Keep clear of the bridge saw operating area. 5. Never start up the bridge saw if any technical faults have been found. 6. Before using the bridge saw check that any potential hazards have been eliminated. 7. Advise technical personnel of any operational malfunction 8. Make sure that all the protective guards are correctly in position and that all the safety devices are present and in proper working order. 9. Observe all the procedures and information in this owners manual with regards to maintenance and technical assistance. 10. Do not use gas, solvents or other flammable liquids for cleaning purposes. 11. Use commercially-approved non-flammable, non-toxic solvents. 12. Do not put excessive pressure on the blade since this could cause destructive bending of the blade during cutting and could also cause the motor and blade to overheat. 13. Only one operator may use the saw at a time. 14. With the exception of the operator, all persons must keep clear of the bridge saw during cutting. 15. Personal safety equipment must always be worn when using the bridge saw.

SAFETY AND PROTECTIVE DEVICES

The Bridge Saw is equipped with a blade safety guard; the operator is therefore protected from potential accidental contact with the blade itself, fragments of material and also from noise. The blade safety guard is fixed and almost covers the entire blade (Fig.1). A blade safety guard is a type of protective guard is made up of two parts joined together by 4 screws, which facilitate blade replacement when necessary. The protective guard nearly covers the entire blade and is connected to the motor

STANDARD USE AND DESCRIPTION

THE BRIDGE SAW IS MADE UP OF THE FOLLOWING PARTS (Fig. 2) 1. Sliding motor unit (can be set at an angle for 45 cutting) 2. Motor 3. Continuous rim wet diamond blade 4. Sliding unit supports 5. Metal tray 6. Legs with rear wheels The QEP 83012 is a Professional Bridge Saw fitted with a 10" continuous rim wet diamond blade for cutting ceramic tiles, an electric water pump for cooling the diamond blade, and sliding motor unit. Flipping the switch to the "I" position turns on the machine. The material to be cut must be placed on the cutting table. The cutting of the material is carried out by slowly pulling the motor and setting blade down onto the material to be cut. The QEP 83012 is engineered for professional operators and is designed for linear, diagonal and 45 cutting for ceramic tiles, marble, granite, porcelain, and other masonry materials. The diamond blade supplied with the machine is only advised for use with ceramic tiles. It is essential to use specific blades for all the other materials listed above.

The QEP 83012 is fitted with an auto magnetic thermal overload switch to protect against power surges. The switch (fig. 3) is off in position "O", while it is on in position "I". In the event of a power failure, the switch goes automatically to the "O" position. When the power returns, the bridge saw will not start without warning. It will only start if the switch is put in the "I"position. The switch also protects the motor. If the diamond blade gets jammed during operation, the switch will automatically cut power, switch to the "O" position to prevent the motor from burning. The bridge saw is also fitted with a thermal protection device which, on reaching 266F (130C), will stop the motor, preventing overheating. After this device has been activated it will be necessary to wait until the motor cools down. The bridge saw will not actually start up again until it has reached the optimal temperature. ALL MAINTENANCE WORK MUST BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE BRIDGE SAW DISCONNECTED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY. Only authorized personnel may have access to the operating controls. It is the operators responsibility to make sure that all the protective guards are in position and all the safety devices are present. This bridge saw must be properly grounded. The risk of electric shock and bodily injury are greatly increased if it is not, particularly when used in damp locations or in proximity to plumbing.

Enclosed with the machine is the electrical system diagram (Fig. 4).

PROPER USE AND RESTRICTIONS

WARNINGS: Any type of maintenance must be carried out with the bridge saw disconnected from the power supply. The use of the Bridge Saw without wearing personal safety equipment is prohibited. The QEP 83012 must only be used to cut ceramic tiles, marble, granite, porcelain, and other masonry materials. Incorrect use on materials such as wood, glass, and metals, will put the users safety at risk. QEP is not responsible for any incorrect use of the machine. Only continuous rim wet blades or turbo-blades can be mounted to the QEP 83012. Check that the water level in the tray is sufficient, and that the water pump is completely submerged to safeguard the diamond blade and to avoid the spreading of large amounts of powder caused by the cutting process. All adjustments must be carried out and worn parts replaced with the machine disconnected from the power supply. The use of toothed blades designed for cutting wood, and any metal or similar materials is absolutely prohibited. The operator is prohibited from using the machine without personal safety equipment.

INSTALLATION WARNING
THE USER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THE MACHINE IS INSTALLED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE RELEVANT LOCAL REGULATIONS CURRENTLY IN FORCE. THE MACHINE MUST BE INSTALLED BY QUALIFIED PERSONNEL WHO HAVE READ THIS OWNERS MANUAL CAREFULLY AND HAVE UNDERSTOOD THE INFORMATION HEREIN. ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING INSTALLATION MUST BE FOLLOWED. WHEN IN DOUBT, CONSULT THE OWNERS MANUAL OR CONTACT MANUFACTURER. The installation must follow the few basic procedures indicated below: 1. Mount the 4 legs by inserting them into their housings (Fig.5). 2. Fix the motor support with the specially designed threaded rod and screw-grip (Fig. 6). 3. Fix the cable holding strip onto the tray with the nut and bolt (Fig. 7). 4. Always check that the switchboard panel provides the voltage and frequency indicated on the motor information plate. 5. Never connect the motor to a switchboard panel, which is not grounded. 6. ELECTRIC SHOCK RISK: NEVER POSITION THE MACHINE ON UNEVEN SURFACES.

ADJUSTMENTS
The QEP 83012 undergoes thorough testing and are set accurately before leaving the factory. The user does not have to adjust it in any way to perform linear and 45 cutting operations.

OPERATION PROCEDURES
1. Fill the tray with water, making sure the pump is fully submersed. 2. Connect the power cord in the wall outlet 3. Switch the machine to the "I" position.

CORRECT USE OF PERSONAL SAFETY EQUIPMENT

The personal safety equipment to be used is indicated on the blade guard. The equipment includes goggles (for protection from flying chips generated during cutting) and ear protection (Fig. 8). WARNING: QEP IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ACCIDENTS IF THE OPERATOR IS NOT WEARING THE PROPER SAFETY EQUIPMENT AS STATED IN THIS MANUAL.

LINEAR, 45 AND DIAGONAL CUTTING OPERATIONS

Linear cutting: 1. Push the sliding trolley towards the side opposite the operator until it reaches the stroke limit. 2. Position the tile on the cutting table (cuts 30" square, 20" diagonal). 3. Set the cutting size with the help of the special squaring tool (Figs. 9 & 10). 4. Lock the motor unit in place, using the special screw grip on the right-hand side of the motor trolley. 5. Pull the motor trolley slowly towards the material to be cut. 6. Remove the cut pieces and any chips left on the work surface.

45 cutting: 1. Loosen the screw grips which lock the sliding rod. 2. Turn the motor unit counterclockwise until it reaches the stroke limit (Fig.11). 3. Fasten the locking screw-grips located at the end of the machine tightly. 4. Carry out the procedure for "linear cutting" from point 1 to point 6.

Diagonal cutting: 1. Position the squaring tool at the angle desired following the 45 angle rip guide (Fig.12). 2. Carry out the procedure for "linear cutting" from point 1 to point 6. 45 cutting on a diagonally cut tile: 1. Carry out point 1 of "Diagonal cutting". 2. Carry out points 1 to 4 of " 45 cuts". 3. Carry out the procedure for "linear cutting" from point 1 to point 6. Rectangular cutting: 1. Loosen the motor unit locking screw grip so that the blade can move freely. 2. Position the squaring tool as in Figure 13 and fix it in place with the special screw grip. 3. Place the tile on the squaring tool with the glazed surface facing downwards. 4. With the machine turned off, place the diamond blade over the tile in the position at which the rectangle is desired. 5. Start up the motor and slowly lower the blade so that the tile is cut along one side of the rectangle desired. 6. Repeat point 5 for the remaining three sides of the rectangle.

WARNINGS
There must only be one operator during the cutting operations. With the exception of the operator, all persons must keep clear of the machine during cutting. The operator must be wearing all the personal safety equipment before starting up the machine (see Fig. 8). Water is essential for cooling and lubricating the diamond blade. Use of the blade without water will damage the blade and shorten its working life. Do not put excessive pressure on the blade since this could cause destructive bending of the blade during cutting. Excessive pressure on the materials to be cut could also cause the blade to overheat. All adjustments must be carried out and worn parts replaced with the machine disconnected from the power supply.

MAINTENANCE
WARNING: All maintenance work, whether ordinary or special, must be carried out with the machine disconnected from the power supply.

ORDINARY MAINTENANCE
Ordinary maintenance work (cleaning and lubrication) and checks on the state of the machine parts must be done at least once a week. The only ordinary maintenance, which can be carried out by the operator, comprises: 1. Replacing the blade. 2. Cleaning the machine completely.

3. Maintaining the water level in the tank. 4. Cleaning water pump and filter. 5. Checking the state of all the cables in the machine. 6. Carefully lubricating the guide and all the parts related to the sliding motion with the special lubricant supplied with the machine. DO NOT USE PACKING GREASE. 7. All this work must be carried out in accordance with the instructions in this owners manual.

SPECIAL MAINTENANCE
Besides the weekly maintenance work, the QEP 83012 requires a series of operations which can be called end of use operations and which are advisable above all if the machine is not used for a long period of time: 1. Thorough cleaning of the tank to remove the entire cutting operations residue. 2. Thorough cleaning and lubrication of the moving parts, which are exposed to dampness and dirt. 3. Thorough cleaning of the water pump and the cooling system.

CLEANING THE WATER PUMP AND THE COOLING SYSTEM

If the water pump should stop supplying water to the blade: 1. Unplug the machine from the power supply. 2. Check that the adjuster tap is turned on. 3. Check that the level of water in the tank is covering the pump fully. 4. Check that the pipe which goes from the pump to the blade casing is not obstructed. 5. Check that there are no stone chips obstructing the pump filter CLEAN FILTER ON A REGULAR BASIS. 6. Check that the pump fan is not blocked and clean it to remove any leftover dirt.

REPLACING THE DIAMOND BLADE

WARNING: BEFORE PROCEEDING TO REPLACE THE BLADE, MAKE SURE THAT THE MACHINE IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE POWER SUPPLY. Follow this procedure: 1. Remove the cover of the protective casing for the blade (6). 2. Remove the blade-lock flange (7). 3. Remove the blade to be replaced (4). 4. Clean the flanges thoroughly (5). 5. Apply the new blade, taking particular care that the blade rotating direction is as indicated by the arrow on the blade itself (Fig. 14). Only use continuous rim wet diamond or turbo blades. Only use 10" (250mm) blades with 5/8" (16mm) arbor. 6. Mount the new blade-lock flange and the protective casing cover. THE USE OF ANY OTHER CUTTING BLADE (POINT 5) WILL RENDER THE GUARANTEE INVALID AND WILL RELIEVE QEP FROM ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACCIDENTS CAUSED BY IMPROPER USE.

INTRODUCTION

La scie QEP 83012 est conue et fabrique pour maintenir longtemps les normes les plus leves en termes de fiabilit et de fonctionnement. Ce manuel du propritaire contient des instructions importantes au sujet de la prparation de la scie linaire sur place et toute linformation ncessaire au sujet des pices de rechange, du nettoyage et de lentretien. Il est toutefois essentiel pour loprateur davoir lexprience voulue et une bonne comprhension de la scie linaire. Loprateur doit lire, connatre et respecter toutes les instructions contenues dans ce manuel du propritaire tant linformation sur les oprations de coupe que celles portant sur les procdures dentretien ordinaires et spciales. Le manuel du propritaire doit tre considr comme une partie de la scie linaire et donc tre conserve avec elle en tout temps. Si le manuel est endommag ou perdu, loprateur peut en demander une nouvelle copie de QEP. INSTRUCTIONS DE SCURIT POUR LA SCIE LINAIRE

AVERTISSEMENT: TOUT TYPE DE TRAVAIL DENTRETIEN OU DE RPARATIONS DOIT SEFFECTUER LORSQUE LA SCIE LINAIRE EST HORS TENSION. Lisez attentivement le manuel du propritaire avant dinstaller, de dmarrer et dutiliser la scie linaire ou de faire tout travail dentretien ou de rparation ou tout type de travail sur la scie. 1. Gardez toujours les cheveux longs attachs larrire. 4. Gardez lespace de travail de la scie linaire libre. 5. Ne faites jamais dmarrer la scie linaire si vous trouvez des dfauts techniques. 6. Avant dutiliser la scie linaire, vrifiez que tout danger possible a t corrig. 7. Avisez le personnel technique de toute anomalie oprationnelle. 8. Assurez-vous que tous les dispositifs de protection sont bien placs et que tous les dispositifs de scurit sont prsents et en bon tat de fonctionnement. 9. Respectez toutes les procdures et toute linformation du manuel du propritaire portant sur lentretien et lassistance technique. 10. Nutilisez pas de gaz, solvants ou autres liquides inflammables pour le nettoyage. 11. Utilisez des solvants non toxiques, non inflammables et approuvs pour le commerce. 12. Ne mettez pas de pression excessive sur la lame car cela pourrait plier la lame durant la coupe et faire surchauffer le moteur et la lame. 13. Un seul oprateur la fois peut utiliser la scie. 14. lexception de loprateur, toutes les personnes doivent se tenir loin de la scie linaire durant la coupe. 15. Il faut toujours porter de lquipement de scurit personnelle en utilisant la scie linaire.

DISPOSITIFS DE SCURIT ET DE PROTECTION

La scie linaire est dote dun protecteur de scurit de la lame, loprateur est donc protg de tout contact accidentel avec la lame elle-mme, les fragments de matriaux et aussi du bruit. Le dispositif de protection de la lame est fixe et couvre presque toute la lame (Fig. 1). Un dispositif de protection de la lame est un type de dispositif de protection comprenant deux pices jointes par 4 vis ce qui facilite le remplacement de la lame au besoin. Le dispositif de protection couvre presque toute la lame et est reli au moteur. AVERTISSEMENT: IL EST INTERDIT DUTILISER LA SCIE LINAIRE SANS SON DISPOSITIF DE SCURIT.

UTILISATION ET DESCRIPTION STANDARD

LA SCIE LINAIRE COMPREND LES PICES SUIVANTES (Fig. 2) 1. Unit du moteur coulissante (peut se rgler un certain angle pour les coupes 45) 2. Moteur 3. Lame diamante humide rebord continu 4. Supports dunit coulissants 5. Plateau de mtal 6. Pieds roues arrire 2 Le modle QEP 83012 est une scie linaire professionnelle lame diamante humide rebord continu de 250mm (10 po) pour couper les carreaux de cramique, pompe eau lectrique pour 3 refroidir la lame diamante et unit de moteur coulissante. 4 Vous mettez lappareil en marche en mettant linterrupteur la position I . 5 Le matriau couper doit tre plac sur la table de coupe. Vous coupez le matriau en tirant lentement le moteur et en 6 abaissant la lame sur le matriau couper. Le modle QEP 83012 est une scie pour tous les oprateurs professionnels et est conu pour les coupes linaires, diagonales et de 45 de carreaux de cramique, de marbre, de granit, de porcelaine et tous les autres matriaux de maonnerie. La lame diamante fournie avec la machine est conseille seulement pour les carreaux de cramique. Il est essentiel dutiliser les lames spcifiques pour tous les autres matriaux indiqus. NOTE: LES CARREAUX DE PORCELAINE EXIGENT UNE LAME CERTIFIE POUR LA PORCELAINE. CES LAMES SONT AUSSI DISPONIBLES DE QEP

La scie QEP 83012 est dote dun interrupteur de surcharge thermique magntique automatique pour protger des surcharges. Linterrupteur (fig. 3) est coup en position O et en marche en position I . Dans le cas dune panne dlectricit, linterrupteur passe automatiquement la position O . Lorsque le courant revient, la scie linaire ne redmarre pas automatiquement sans avertissement. Elle ne dmarrera que si linterrupteur est en position I . Linterrupteur protge aussi le moteur. Si la lame diamante se bloque durant lopration, linterrupteur coupe automatiquement le courant et fait passer linterrupteur en position O pour viter de brler le moteur. La scie linaire est aussi dote dun dispositif de protection thermique qui arrtera le moteur 130 C (266 F) prvenant ainsi la surchauffe. Aprs avoir activ ce dispositif, il faudra attendre quelques minutes pour que le moteur refroidisse. La scie linaire ne dmarrera pas nouveau avant datteindre la temprature optimale. TOUT TRAVAIL DENTRETIEN DOIT SEFFECTUER LORSQUE LA SCIE LINAIRE EST HORS TENSION. Seul le personnel autoris peut avoir accs aux commandes. Il relve de loprateur de sassurer que tous les dispositifs de protection sont en place et que tous les dispositifs de scurit sont prsents. Cette scie linaire doit tre mise la terre correctement. Il y a plus de danger de choc lectrique et de graves blessures si elle ne lest pas, particulirement lorsquelle est utilise dans des endroits humides ou prs de la plomberie.

BON USAGE ET RESTRICTIONS

AVERTISSEMENT: TOUT TYPE DENTRETIEN DOIT TRE EFFECTU LORSQUE LA SCIE LINAIRE EST HORS TENSION. IL EST INTERDIT DUTILISER LA SCIE LINAIRE SANS PORTER DE LQUIPEMENT DE SCURIT PERSONNELLE. La QEP 83012 doit tre utilise seulement pour couper les carreaux de cramique, de marbre, de granit, de porcelaine et tous les autres matriaux de maonnerie. Toute mauvaise utilisation sur des matriaux tels que le bois, le verre et les mtaux mettra lutilisateur en danger. QEP nest pas responsable de toute mauvaise utilisation de la machine. Seules les lames humides rebord continu ou les lames turbo peuvent tre installes sur la scie QEP 83012. Assurez-vous que le niveau deau dans le plateau soit suffisant et que la pompe eau soit entirement submerge pour protger la lame diamante et pour viter de disperser de grandes quantits de poudre suite la coupe. Tous les ajustements et le remplacement des pices uses doivent seffectuer lorsque la machine est hors tension. Il est absolument interdit dutiliser des lames dentes conues pour couper le bois et tout mtal ou autres matriaux semblables. Il est interdit pour loprateur dutiliser la machine sans porter de lquipement de scurit personnelle.

AVERTISSEMENT POUR LINSTALLATION

LUTILISATEUR EST RESPONSABLE DE SASSURER QUE LA MACHINE SOIT INSTALLE CONFORMMENT AUX RGLEMENTS LOCAUX PERTINENTS EN PLACE CE MOMENT-L. LA MACHINE DOIT TRE INSTALLE PAR UN PERSONNEL QUALIFI QUI A LU ATTENTIVEMENT SON MANUEL DU PROPRITAIRE ET QUI A COMPRIS LINFORMATION QUI SY TROUVE. IL FAUT SUIVRE TOUTES LES INSTRUCTIONS AU SUJET DE LINSTALLATION. SI VOUS AVEZ DES DOUTES, CONSULTEZ LE MANUEL DU PROPRITAIRE OU CONTACTEZ LE FABRICANT. Linstallation doit suivre certaines procdures de base indiques plus bas : 1. Montez les 4 pieds en les insrant dans leurs logements (Fig. 5). 2. Fixez le support du moteur avec la tige filete et la prise vis de conception spciale (Fig. 6). 3. Fixez le cble retenant la bande sur le plateau avec un crou et un boulon (Fig. 7). 4. Vrifiez toujours que le panneau de manuvre fournit la tension et la frquence indiques sur la plaque dinformation du moteur. 5. Ne connectez jamais le moteur au panneau de manuvre qui nest pas mis la terre. 6. RISQUE DE CHOC LECTRIQUE: NE PLACEZ JAMAIS LA MACHINE SUR DES SURFACES INGALES.

AJUSTEMENTS
Le modle QEP 83012 a subi des tests approfondis et est rgl avec exactitude avant de quitter lusine. Lutilisateur na donc pas lajuster de quelque faon que ce soit pour effectuer les oprations de coupe linaires et 45.

PROCDURES DE FONCTIONNEMENT
1. Remplissez le plateau deau en vous assurant que la pompe soit entirement submerge. 2. Branchez le cordon dans la prise. 3. Mettez le machine en position I.

BONNE UTILISATION DE LQUIPEMENT DE SCURIT PERSONNELLE

Lquipement de scurit personnelle utiliser est indiqu sur le protecteur de lame. Cet quipement inclut des lunettes (pour la protection contre les copeaux produits durant la coupe) et des protecteurs doreille (Fig. 8). OPRATIONS DE COUPES LINAIRES, 45 ET DIAGONALES

Coupe linaire: 1. Poussez le chariot coulissant vers le ct oppos de loprateur jusqu ce quil atteigne la limite de sa course. 2. Placez le carreau sur la table de coupe (coupe un carreau de 76,2 cm (30 po) linaires, 50,8 cm (20 po) en diagonale). 3. Rglez la taille de coupe avec laide de loutil dquarrissage spcial (Figs. 9 et 10). 4. Verrouillez lunit du moteur en place laide de la prise vis spciale du ct droit du chariot du moteur. 5. Tirez lentement le chariot du moteur vers le matriau couper. 6. Retirez les pices coupes et tous les copeaux qui restent sur la surface de travail.

Coupe de 45 1. Desserrez les prises vis qui verrouillent la tige coulissante. 2. Tournez lunit du moteur vers la gauche jusqu ce quelle atteigne la limite de la course (Fig. 11). 3. Attachez bien les prises vis de verrouillage lextrmit de la machine. 4. Suivez les procdures de coupe linaire du point 1 au point 6.

Coupe diagonale : 1. Placez loutil dquarrissage langle voulu selon le guide de dcoupage un angle de 45 (Fig. 12). 2. Suivez les procdures de coupe linaire du point 1 au point 6. Coupe 45 sur un carreau coupe diagonale : 1. Suivez le point 1 de la coupe diagonale . 2. Suivez les points 1 4 des coupes 45 . 3. Suivez les procdures de coupe linaire du point 1 au point 6. Coupe rectangulaire : 1. Desserrez la prise vis de verrouillage de lunit du moteur pour que la lame puisse se dplacer librement. 2. Placez loutil dquarrissage comme dans la figure 13 et fixez-le en place avec la prise vis spciale. 3. Placez le carreau sur loutil dquarrissage en plaant la surface maille vers le bas. 4. Mettez la machine hors tension et placez la lame diamante sur le carreau en position pour obtenir le rectangle voulu. 5. Dmarrez le moteur et abaissez lentement la lame pour que le carreau soit coup dun ct du rectangle choisi. 6. Rptez le point 5 pour les trois autres cts du rectangle.

AVERTISSEMENTS
Il doit y avoir seulement un oprateur durant les oprations de coupe. lexception de loprateur, toutes les personnes doivent se tenir loin de la machine durant la coupe. Loprateur doit porter tout lquipement de scurit personnelle avant le dmarrage de la machine (voir la fig. 8). Leau est essentielle pour refroidir et lubrifier la lame diamante. Utiliser la lame sans eau lendommagera beaucoup et rduira sa dure de vie utile. Ne mettez pas de pression excessive sur la lame car cela pourrait plier la lame et la dtruire durant la coupe. Toute pression excessive sur les matriaux couper pourrait aussi faire surchauffer la lame. Tous les ajustements et le remplacement des pices uses doivent seffectuer lorsque la machine est hors tension.

ENTRETIEN
AVERTISSEMENT: TOUT TYPE DE TRAVAIL DENTRETIEN, ORDINAIRE OU SPCIAL, DOIT SEFFECTUER LORSQUE LA MACHINE EST HORS TENSION.

ENTRETIEN ORDINAIRE
On doit faire lentretien ordinaire (nettoyage et lubrification) et les vrifications de ltat des pices de la machine au moins une fois par semaine. Voici le seul entretien ordinaire que loprateur peut effectuer: 1. Remplacer la lame. 2. Nettoyer entirement la machine. 3. Maintenir le niveau deau du rservoir. 4. Nettoyer la pompe deau et le filtre. 5. Vrifier ltat de tous les cbles de la machine. 6. Lubrifiez avec soin le guide et toutes les pices relies au mouvement coulissant avec le lubrifiant spcial fourni avec la machine. NUTILISEZ PAS LA GRAISSE DEMBALLAGE. 7. Tout ce travail doit tre effectu conformment aux instructions contenues dans le manuel du propritaire.

ENTRETIEN SPCIAL
En plus du travail dentretien hebdomadaire, le modle QEP 83012 exige une srie doprations que lon peut appeler oprations la fin de lutilisation et qui sont recommandes lorsque lappareil ne sera pas utilis pendant un certain temps : 1. Nettoyez bien le rservoir pour en retirer tous les rsidus des oprations de coupe. 2. Nettoyez et lubrifiez bien toutes les pices mobiles qui sont exposes lhumidit et la poussire. 3. Nettoyez bien la pompe eau et le systme de refroidissement.

NETTOYAGE DE LA POMPE EAU ET DU SYSTME DE REFROIDISSEMENT

Si la pompe eau cesse de fournir de leau la lame: 1. Dbranchez la machine de la source de courant. 2. Vrifiez si le robinet dajustement est ouvert. 3. Vrifiez que le niveau deau du rservoir couvre entirement la pompe. 4. Vrifiez que le tuyau allant de la pompe au logement de la lame nest pas obstru. 5. Vrifiez quil ny a aucune recoupe obstruant le filtre de la pompe NETTOYEZ LE FILTRE RGULIREMENT. 6. Vrifiez que le ventilateur de la pompe nest pas bloqu et nettoyez-le pour retirer toute poussire restante.

REMPLACER LA LAME DIAMANTE

AVERTISSEMENT : avant de remplacer la lame, assurez-vous que la machine soit hors tension. Suivez cette procdure : 1. Retirez le couvercle du botier protecteur de la lame (6). 2. Retirez la bride de verrou de lame (7). 3. Retirez la lame remplacer (4). 4. Nettoyez bien les brides (5). 5. Appliquez la nouvelle lame, en vous assurant que la direction de rotation de la lame soit tel quindiqu par la flche sur la lame elle-mme (fig.14). Utilisez seulement les lames diamantes humides rebord continu ou les lames turbo. Utilisez seulement les lames de 250mm (10 po) avec un arbre de 1,5 cm (5/8 po). 6. Montez la nouvelle bride de verrou de lame et le couvercle du botier de protection. UTILISER TOUTE AUTRE LAME DE COUPE (POINT 5) ANNULERA LA GARANTIE ET DGAGERA QEP DE TOUTE RESPONSABILIT POUR LES ACCIDENTS SUITE UNE MAUVAISE UTILISATION.

Felicitaciones por la compra de su sierra elctrica profesional tipo puente QEP, STK N 83012. La sierra QEP 83012 est diseada y fabricada para brindar confiabilidad absoluta y altos niveles de rendimiento a lo largo de los aos. Este manual del usuario contiene instrucciones importantes relativas a la preparacin de la sierra tipo puente en el emplazamiento y toda la informacin necesaria sobre repuestos, limpieza y mantenimiento. Es esencial para el operador poseer la experiencia adecuada y un buen conocimiento de la sierra tipo puente. El operador debe leer, conocer y observar estrictamente todas las instrucciones del manual del usuario, tanto las relativas a las operaciones de corte como las que se refieren a procedimientos de mantenimiento de rutina y especiales. El manual del usuario debe considerarse como parte de la sierra tipo puente y por ello debe conservarse junto con la mquina en todo momento. En caso de que el manual del usuario se deteriore o se pierda, el operador puede solicitar una nueva copia a QEP. INSTRUCCIONES DE SEGURIDAD PARA LA SIERRA TIPO PUENTE

ADVERTENCIA: CUALQUIER TIPO DE REPARACIN O MANTENIMIENTO DEBE REALIZARSE CON LA SIERRA TIPO PUENTE DESCONECTADA DE LA FUENTE DE ENERGA. Lea atentamente el manual del usuario antes de instalar, poner en funcionamiento y usar la sierra tipo puente o llevar a cabo trabajos de mantenimiento o cualquier otro tipo de trabajo con la sierra. 1. No permita que personas no autorizadas realicen trabajos con la sierra tipo puente. 2. No use anillos, relojes, joyas, vestimenta suelta o rota que pueda engancharse en las partes en movimiento. 3. El cabello largo debe mantenerse siempre recogido. 4. Mantenga limpia el rea de trabajo de la sierra tipo puente. 5. Nunca encienda la sierra tipo puente si se hubiesen detectado fallas tcnicas. 6. Antes de usar la sierra tipo puente verifique que se hayan eliminado todos los peligros potenciales. 7. Informe al personal tcnico acerca de cualquier falla de funcionamiento operativo. 8. Asegrese de que se hayan colocado todas las protecciones y de que la mquina cuente con todos sus dispositivos de seguridad en buen funcionamiento. 9. Observe todos los procedimientos y la informacin proporcionada en este manual del usuario en relacin con el mantenimiento y la asistencia tcnica. 10. No use gasolina, solventes ni otros lquidos inflamables para limpiar la mquina. 11. Use solventes no inflamables, no txicos con aprobacin comercial. 12. No ejerza una presin excesiva sobre el disco, ya que esto podra causar la curvatura y destruccin del disco durante el corte y el sobrecalentamiento del motor y del disco. 13. Solamente un operador por a la vez puede utilizar la sierra tipo puente. 14. A excepcin del operador, todas las personas deben mantenerse alejadas de la sierra tipo puente durante el corte. 15. Siempre deben usarse los equipos de seguridad personal al operar la sierra tipo puente.

DISPOSITIVOS DE SEGURIDAD Y PROTECCIN

La sierra tipo puente est equipada con una proteccin de seguridad para el disco que protege al operador de un potencial contacto accidental con el disco o con fragmentos de material, as como del ruido. La proteccin de seguridad para el disco es fija y cubre casi todo el disco (Fig. 1).

Proteccin de seguridad para el disco

La proteccin de seguridad para el disco es un tipo de proteccin que consiste de dos partes unidas con 4 tornillos, que facilitan el reemplazo del disco cuando es necesario. La proteccin cubre casi todo el disco y est conectada al motor. ADVERTENCIA: EST PROHIBIDO USAR LA SIERRA TIPO PUENTE SIN LA PROTECCIN DE SEGURIDAD PARA EL DISCO.

USO ESTNDAR Y DESCRIPCIN

LA SIERRA TIPO PUENTE CONSTA DE LAS SIGUIENTES PARTES (Fig. 2) 1. Unidad deslizante de motor (puede ajustarse en ngulo para cortes a 45) 2. Motor 3. Disco de diamante de borde continuo 4. Soportes de unidad deslizante 5. Bandeja metlica 6. Patas con ruedas traseras 2 El modelo QEP 83012 es una sierra elctrica profesional tipo 3 puente equipada con un disco de diamante de borde continuo de 25,4 cm (10") para corte en hmedo para cortar losetas de 4 cermica, una bomba de agua elctrica para enfriar el disco de diamante y una unidad deslizante de motor. 5 Colocando el interruptor en la posicin I se enciende la mquina. El material a cortar debe colocarse sobre la mesa de corte. 6 El corte del material se realiza deslizando el motor lentamente y colocando el disco sobre el material a cortar. El modelo QEP 83012 est destinado a todos los operadores profesionales y ha sido diseado para realizar cortes lineales, en diagonal y a 45 en losetas de cermica, mrmol, granito, porcelana y otros materiales de albailera. Se recomienda usar el disco de diamante suministrado con la mquina solamente para losetas de cermica. Para todos los dems materiales incluidos en la lista mencionada deben usarse discos especficos. . NOTA: LAS LOSETAS DE PORCELANA REQUIEREN UN DISCO ESPECFICO CERTIFICADO PARA PORCE LANA QUE TAMBIN EST DISPONIBLE EN QEP

LISTA DE CONTROLES

FIGURA 3 El modelo QEP 83012 est equipado con un interruptor de sobrecarga termomagntico automtico que lo protege de la sobretensin. El interruptor (Fig. 3) se encuentra apagado en la posicin O, y en la posicin I, se encuentra encendido. En el caso de un corte de energa, el interruptor vuelve a la posicin O en forma automtica. Cuando se restablezca el suministro de energa, la sierra tipo puente no se volver a encender inadvertidamente. Solamente se encender si el interruptor se coloca en la posicin I. El interruptor tambin protege el motor. Si el disco de diamante se traba durante su operacin, el interruptor cortar automticamente el suministro de energa y volver a la posicin O para evitar que se queme el motor. La sierra tipo puente tambin est equipada con un dispositivo trmico de proteccin que, al alcanzar los 130 C (266 F), detiene el motor para evitar el sobrecalentamiento. Una vez activado este dispositivo, ser necesario esperar unos minutos hasta que el motor se enfre. La sierra tipo puente no se encender nuevamente hasta haber alcanzado la temperatura ptima.
TODOS LOS PROCEDIMIENTOS DE MANTENIMIENTO DEBEN REALIZARSE CON LA SIERRA TIPO PUENTE DESCONECTADA DE LA FUENTE DE ENERGA. Solamente el personal autorizado puede tener acceso a los controles de operacin. Es responsabilidad del operador asegurarse de que se hayan colocado todas las protecciones y de que la mquina cuente con todos sus dispositivos de seguridad. Esta sierra tipo puente debe tener una conexin a tierra adecuada. De lo contrario, el riesgo de choque elctrico y lesiones fsicas aumenta significativamente, en particular cuando se utiliza en lugares hmedos o cerca de tuberas.

USO ADECUADO Y RESTRICCIONES

ADVERTENCIAS: Cualquier tipo de mantenimiento debe realizarse con la sierra tipo puente desconectada de la fuente de energa. Est prohibido el uso de la sierra tipo puente sin el equipo de seguridad personal. La sierra QEP 83012 nicamente debe usarse para cortar losetas de cermica, mrmol, granito, porcelana y otros materiales de albailera. El uso incorrecto sobre materiales tales como madera, vidrio y metales pone en riesgo la seguridad del usuario. QEP no se responsabiliza por el uso incorrecto de la mquina. El modelo QEP 83012 slo admite el montaje de discos de borde continuo para corte en hmedo o discos turbo. Verifique que el nivel de agua en la bandeja sea suficiente y que la bomba de agua se encuentre completamente sumergida, para proteger el disco de diamante y evitar esparcir grandes cantidades de polvo como resultado del proceso de corte. Todos los ajustes y reemplazos de las partes desgastadas deben realizarse con la mquina desconectada de la fuente de energa. El uso de discos dentados diseados para cortar madera y cualquier metal o material similar se encuentra absolutamente prohibido. Se prohbe al operador usar la mquina sin los equipos de seguridad personal.

ADVERTENCIA DE INSTALACIN
EL USUARIO ES RESPONSABLE DE ASEGURAR SE DE QUE LA MQUINA SEA INSTALADA EN CONFORMIDAD CON LAS REGLAMENTACIONES LOCALES PERTINENTES QUE SE ENCUENTREN VIGENTES. LA MQUINA DEBE SER INSTALADA POR PERSONAL CALIFICADO QUE PREVIAMENTE DEBE HABER LEDO CON ATENCIN ESTE MANUAL DEL USUARIO Y COMPRENDIDO LA INFORMACIN PROPORCIONADA EN EL MISMO. DEBEN SEGUIRSE TODAS LAS INSTRUCCIONES RELATIVAS A LA INSTALACIN. SI TIENE DUDAS, CONSULTE EL MANUAL DEL USUARIO O COMUNQUESE CON EL FABRICANTE. En la instalacin deben observarse los procedimientos bsicos indicados a continuacin: 1. Monte las 4 patas insertndolas en los huecos correspondientes (Fig. 5). 2. Coloque el soporte del motor con la varilla roscada y la mordaza roscada especialmente diseadas (Fig. 6). 3. Coloque la banda que sostiene el cable sobre la bandeja con el perno y la tuerca (Fig. 7). 4. Verifique siempre que el panel de conmutacin suministre el voltaje y la frecuencia indicados en la placa de informacin del motor. 5. Nunca conecte el motor a un panel de conmutacin sin conexin a tierra. 6. RIESGO DE CHOQUE ELCTRICO: NUNCA UBIQUE LA MQUINA SOBRE SUPERFICIES DESNIVELADAS.

AJUSTES
El modelo QEP 83012 es sometido a pruebas exhaustivas y las mquinas son ajustadas con suma precisin antes de salir de la fbrica. El usuario no necesita hacer ningn ajuste para realizar operaciones de corte lineal y a 45.

PROCEDIMIENTOS DE OPERACIN
1. Llene la bandeja con agua y asegrese de que la bomba est totalmente sumergida. 2. Conecte el cable de alimentacin en la toma de corriente de la pared. 3. Coloque el interruptor de la mquina en la posicin I.

USO CORRECTO DE LOS EQUIPOS DE SEGURIDAD PERSONAL

Los equipos de seguridad personal que deben utilizarse se indican en la proteccin del disco. Los equipos incluyen gafas (para protegerse de las astillas que pueden desprenderse durante el corte) y proteccin para los odos (Fig. 8). ADVERTENCIA: QEP NO SE RESPONSABILIZA POR ACCIDENTES SI EL OPERADOR NO USA LOS EQUIPOS DE SEGURIDAD ADECUADOS CONFORME SE INDICA EN ESTE MANUAL.

OPERACIONES DE CORTE LINEAL, A 45 Y EN DIAGONAL

Corte lineal: 1. Empuje el carro deslizante hacia el lado opuesto al operador hasta que alcance el final de la mesa de corte. 2. Coloque la loseta sobre la mesa de corte (corta hasta 76,2 cm (30") de largo, 50,8 cm (20") en diagonal). 3. Determine las dimensiones del corte con la ayuda de la herramienta especial para escuadrar (Figuras 9 y 10). 4. Trabe la unidad del motor en su lugar, utilizando la mordaza roscada especial sobre el lateral derecho del carro del motor. 5. Empuje el carro del motor lentamente hacia el material a cortar. 6. Retire las piezas cortadas y cualquier astilla que pueda haber quedado sobre la superficie de trabajo.

Corte a 45 : 1. Afloje las mordazas roscadas que traban la varilla deslizante. 2. Gire la unidad del motor en el sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj hasta que llegue al final de carrera (Fig. 11). 3. Ajuste firmemente las mordazas roscadas de traba que se encuentran en el extremo de la mquina. 4. Lleve a cabo el procedimiento para corte lineal desde el punto 1 hasta el punto 6

Corte en diagonal: 1. Coloque la herramienta para escuadrar en el ngulo deseado, siguiendo la gua para corte al hilo en ngulo de 45 (Fig. 12). 2. Lleve a cabo el procedimiento para corte lineal desde el punto 1 hasta el punto 6. Corte a 45 en una loseta cortada en diagonal: 1. Lleve a cabo el punto 1 de corte en diagonal. 2. Lleve a cabo los puntos 1 a 4 de corte a 45. 3. Lleve a cabo el procedimiento para corte lineal desde el punto 1 hasta el punto 6. Corte rectangular: 1. En la unidad del motor, afloje la mordaza roscada de traba, de manera que el disco pueda moverse libremente. 2. Coloque la herramienta para escuadrar tal como se observa en la Figura 13 y asegrela con la mordaza roscada especial. 3. Coloque la loseta sobre la herramienta para escuadrar con la superficie esmaltada hacia abajo. 4. Con la mquina apagada, coloque el disco de diamante sobre la loseta en la posicin en que desea ubicar el rectngulo. 5. Encienda el motor y lentamente baje el disco, cortando la loseta a lo largo de un lado del rectngulo deseado. 6. Repita el punto 5 para los tres lados restantes del rectngulo.

ADVERTENCIAS
Debe haber solamente un operador durante las operaciones de corte. A excepcin del operador, todas las personas deben mantenerse alejadas de la mquina durante el corte. El operador debe colocarse todos los equipos de seguridad personal antes de encender la mquina (ver Fig. 8). El agua es esencial para enfriar y lubricar el disco de diamante. El uso del disco sin agua provocar daos al disco y reducir su vida til. No ejerza una presin excesiva sobre el disco, ya que esto podra causar la curvatura y destruccin del disco durante el corte. La presin excesiva sobre los materiales a cortar tambin podra causar el sobrecalentamiento del disco. Todos los ajustes y reemplazos de las partes desgastadas deben realizarse con la mquina desconectada de la fuente de energa.

MANTENIMIENTO
ADVERTENCIA: CUALQUIER TIPO DE MANTENIMIENTO, SEA DE RUTINA O ESPECIAL, DEBE REALIZARSE CON LA MQUINA DESCONECTADA DE LA FUENTE DE ENERGA.

MANTENIMIENTO DE RUTINA
El trabajo de mantenimiento de rutina (limpieza y lubricacin) y la verificacin del estado de las partes de la mquina se deben realizar por lo menos una vez por semana. El nico mantenimiento de rutina que puede realizar el operador comprende: 1. Reemplazar el disco. 2. Limpiar completamente la mquina. 3. Mantener el nivel de agua en el tanque.

4. Limpiar la bomba de agua y el filtro. 5. Verificar el estado de todos los cables de la mquina. 6. Lubricar cuidadosamente la gua y todas las partes relacionadas con el movimiento deslizante usando el lubricante especial provisto con la mquina. NO USE GRASA PARA EMPAQUETADURAS. 7. Se debe realizar este trabajo de acuerdo con las instrucciones contenidas en el manual del usuario.

MANTENIMIENTO ESPECIAL
Adems del mantenimiento semanal, la sierra QEP 83012 requiere una serie de operaciones que podran denominarse operaciones al final del uso y que es aconsejable realizar, sobre todo si la mquina no se usa por un perodo prolongado: 1. Limpieza profunda del tanque para eliminar todos los residuos de las operaciones de corte. 2. Limpieza profunda y lubricacin de las partes mviles, que estn expuestas a la humedad y suciedad. 3. Limpieza de la bomba de agua y el sistema de refrigeracin.

LIMPIEZA DE LA BOMBA DE AGUA Y EL SISTEMA DE REFRIGERACIN

Si la bomba de agua deja de enviar agua al disco: 1. Desenchufe la mquina de la fuente de energa. 2. Verifique que el grifo de ajuste est abierto. 3. Verifique que el nivel de agua del tanque cubra totalmente la bomba. 4. Verifique que la tubera que va desde la bomba a la carcasa del disco no est obstruida. 5. Verifique que no haya trozos de piedra que obstruyan el filtro de la bomba LIMPIE REGULARMENTE EL FILTRO DE LA BOMBA. 6. Verifique que el ventilador de la bomba no est bloqueado y lmpielo para eliminar cualquier suciedad.

REEMPLAZO DEL DISCO DE DIAMANTE

ADVERTENCIA: ANTES DE PROCEDER A REEMPLAZAR EL DISCO, ASEGRESE DE QUE LA MQUINA EST DESCONECTADA DE LA FUENTE DE ENERGA. Siga este procedimiento: 1. Retire la cubierta de la carcasa protectora del disco (6). 2. Retire la pestaa de traba del disco (7). 3. Retire el disco que desea reemplazar (4). 4. Limpie cuidadosamente las pestaas (5). 5. Coloque el disco nuevo, cuidando especialmente que la direccin de rotacin del disco sea la indicada por la flecha que est sobre el disco mismo (Fig. 14). Use solamente discos de diamante de borde continuo para corte en hmedo o discos turbo. Use solamente discos de 250mm (10") con el mandril de sujecin de 1,5 cm (5/8"). 6. Monte la pestaa de traba del disco nuevo y la cubierta de la carcasa protectora. EL USO DE CUALQUIER OTRO DISCO (PUNTO 5) DE CORTE INVALIDAR LA GARANTA Y EXIMIR A QEP DE TODA RESPONSABILIDAD POR ACCIDENTES PROVOCADOS POR EL USO INCORRECTO DE LA MQUINA.
