Le Goethe-Institut est l’institution culturelle de la

de l’allemand à l’étranger et soutenons les échanges
culturels internationaux. Nous promouvons également

Goethe, de sociétés culturelles, de centres d’examen et

Le Goethe-Institut Kamerun vous ouvre les
portes de sa bibliothèque, l’une des biblio-
thèques publiques les plus modernes au Ca-
meroun. Il s’agit d’un espace de lecture mais
aussi d’une salle de visionnage avec des
postes audio, des ordinateurs connectés à
internet, un coin de discussion et de travail
de groupe, un coin de détente. Vous y trou-

The Goethe-Institut Kamerun offers
free access to its library, one of the
most modern public libraries in Came-
roon. It has a reading space as well as
a screening room equipped with audio
sets, computers connected to the Inter-
net, a corner for discussions and group
work, and a den. The library is a trea-
sure trove of selected print, electronic,
and audio-visual material in German,
French, and English, and has a pho-
tocopying machine for users. Also, it
organises various weekly events, and
our very competent colleagues will
readily guide you and help you with
advice in your research. Access to the
library’s books and magazines is free
of charge, but a yearly subscription is
required if you want to borrow books.

Wer sich für Deutschland und das Leben dort
interessiert, aber keine Möglichkeit hat dorthin
zu reisen, für den haben wir ein Angebot. Wie
es sich in Deutschland lebt, was die Menschen
dort bewegt und worüber man diskutiert, kann
man auch aus deutschen Filmen erfahren. Aus
diesem Grund bietet die Bibliothek ein Film-
programm wöchentlich wechselnder Filme
aus Deutschland an. Gezeigt werden Filme
auf Deutsch mit deutschen Untertiteln zum
Mitlesen. In Klassikern des deutschen Kinos,
aber auch in neuen Filmen, präsentiert sich
Deutschland auf authentische Weise. Gerade für
unsere Kursteilnehmer*innen bietet sich hier die
Möglichkeit, das Hörverständnis zu trainieren.
Elf Filme stehen in den kommenden Wochen auf
dem Programm. Das Filmangebot richtet sich
in erster Linie an Deutschlernende, steht aber
auch allen anderen Filmliebhabe*innen offen.

Goethe-Découverte 2020
Appel à candidatures | Call for applications
Initiée par le Goethe-Institut en 2015, la
plateforme "Goethe-Découverte" a été
conçue pour fournir aux jeunes et talen-
tueux artistes camerounais, un espace

d'échange artistique, de présentation et de
rencontre. Les objectifs de cette plateforme
sont la promotion des jeunes talents au Ca-
meroun ainsi que la promotion du dialogue
entre les artistes professionnels, les journa-
listes culturels et le grand public. De plus,
cette plateforme vise à susciter l'intérêt
des producteurs et des professionnels de la
culture en vue de la promotion de jeunes
artistes encore peu connus. La plateforme
est ouverte à six formes d'expression artis-
tique : Arts visuels, Danse & Performance,
Musique son, Musique voix, Paroles sur
scène et Théâtre. Suite à un appel à can-
didatures, le lauréat selon la catégorie est
sélectionné par un jury indépendant. Les

The platform “Goethe-Découverte” has been
initiated since 2015 by the Goethe-Institut
Kamerun, and serves as open space for young
artists in Cameroon to show their talent and
express themselves in arts. The aim of the
program is to support young talents in Came-
roon, to facilitate dialogue between professio-
nals in arts and journalists, while also drawing
the interest of producers and broadcasters.
“Goethe-Découverte” offers the possibility
to youngsters to present a performance to a
broader public on the stage of the Goethe-Ins-
titut. The platform is open to all kinds of ar-
tistic expression that are suitable for being
presented in the framework of a show: Visual
arts, Music voice, Music sound, Dance & Per-
formance, Theater and Word-based perfor-
mance. The winner of each category, selected
by an independent jury, will be rewarded with
the chance to present their talent throughout
the year 2020. Details are available on www.

Die seit 2015 vom Goethe-Institut Kamerun
initiierte Plattform "Goethe-Découverte"
dient jungen Künstlern in Kamerun als offe-
ner Raum, um ihr Talent zu zeigen und sich in
der Kunst auszudrücken. Ziel des Programms
ist es, junge Talente in Kamerun zu fördern,
den Dialog zwischen Kunstprofis und Jour-
nalisten zu erleichtern und gleichzeitig das
Interesse von Produzenten und Sendern zu
wecken. "Die "Goethe-Dekouverte" bietet
Jugendlichen die Möglichkeit, ihre Arbeit auf
der Bühne des Goethe-Instituts einem breite-
ren Publikum zu präsentieren. Die Plattform
ist offen für alle Arten von künstlerischem
Ausdruck, die sich für eine Präsentation im
Rahmen einer Show eignen: Bildende Kunst,
Literatur, Musik, Tanz, Theater und Perfor-
mance. Die Gewinner jeder Kategorie, die von
einer unabhängigen Jury ausgewählt werden,
erhalten die Möglichkeit, ihr Talent im Jahr

"Rebel Pilgrim" expose les effets de la
polygamie et du mariage forcé sur nos
familles. Il dépeint l'histoire de Leyon-
ga, une jeune fille de dix-sept ans née
dans un foyer polygame. Elle est très
studieuse et rêve d'aller un jour à l'uni-
versité, de trouver un bon emploi en ville
et de s'occuper de sa mère Bisona que
son père Tita ignore pour la plupart des
questions financières. Elle vient d'obtenir
son certificat de niveau ordinaire et son
père veut la marier à son ami assez âgé
pour être son grand-père car cela lui per-
mettra de payer la dot de sa quatrième
épouse. Leyonga réussira-t-elle à réaliser
son rêve d'aller à l'université ? Son père
réussira-t-il à la marier à son ami dont
il a déjà perçu une partie de la dot? Ce
film a été primé meilleur long métrage
Camerounais et Afrique Centrale en 2018
au Festival Écrans Noirs.

“Rebel Pilgrim” exposes the effects that

families. It depicts the story of Leyonga a
seventeen years old girl born into a po-
lygamous home. She is very studious and
dreams of going to the university someday,
getting a good job in the city afterward and
taking care of her mother Bisona whom her
father Tita mostly ignores financially. She
just obtained her ordinary level certificate
and her father wants to marry her off to
his friend old enough to be his grandfather
as this will enable him to pay the bride
price of his fourth wife. Will Leyonga suc-
ceeds in her dreams of going to the univer-
sity? Will her father succeed to marry her
off to his friend from whom he has already
collected part of the bride price? In 2018
at the Écrans Noirs Festival, the film was
already honored as best Cameroonian and
Central African movie.

„Rebel Pilgrim“ enthüllt die Auswirkungen von
Polygamie und Zwangsheirat auf unsere Fami-
lien. Der Film erzählt die Geschichte der sie-
bzehnjährigen Leyonga, die in einem polygamen
Zuhause aufwächst. Ihr Traum, eines Tages an
der Universität zu studieren und danach einen
guten Job in der Stadt zu bekommen, beruht auf
dem Wunsch Ihre Mutter Bisona finanziell un-
terstützen zu können, da diese nur wenig Hilfe
von Leyonas Vater bekommt. Um den Braut-
preis seiner vierten Frau zahlen zu können,
möchte ihr Vater sie nach Abschluss ihrer Schu-
lausbildung mit seinem Freund verheiraten,
der ihr Großvater sein könnte. Wird Leyonga
ihrem Traum vom Studium folgen können? Oder
gelingt es dem Vater sie mit seinem Freund
zu verheiraten, der ihm bereits einen Teil des
Brautpreises bezahlt hat? Der Film erhielt be-
reits 2018 beim Écrans Noirs Festival eine
Auszeichnung als bester kamerunischer und
zentralafrikanischer Spielfilm.

The department of education cooperation
is responsible for the promotion of the
German language and culture in the se-
condary education system in the Central
African sub-region. This includes the hos-
ting of continuous training seminars, the
granting and supervision of scholarship
programmes for German language stu-
dents, teachers, and inspectors, the subsi-
disation and provision of material support
for educational colloquia, forums, regional
projects and interdisciplinary workshops
for students and teachers.

Der Fachbereich „Bildungskooperation
Deutsch“ ist für die Förderung der deutschen
Sprache und Kultur im Sekundarschulwesen
in der Subregion Westzentralafrika zuständig.
Dazu gehören: die Durchführung von Fortbil-
dungsseminaren, die Vergabe und Betreuung
von Stipendienprogrammen für Deutschschü-
lerInnen, LehrerInnen und InspektorInnen, die
Förderung und materielle Unterstützung von
Bildungskolloquien, Foren, Regionalprojekten
und interdisziplinären Workshops für Schüle-
rInnen und LehrerInnen.

PASCH-Tag au Gabon
Célébration
L’initiative « Écoles, collèges et lycées : parte-
naires de l’avenir » (PASCH) tisse un réseau
mondial regroupant plus de 1 700 écoles PASCH
partageant un lien particulier avec l’Allemagne.
Ces établissements dit « PASCH », bénéfi-
cient d’un partenariat particulier à travers
des bourses de formation régulièrement
octroyées aux élèves, enseignants et enca-
dreurs, la participation à des projets régio-
naux extra-scolaires, la participation à des
rencontres avec les autres pays africains et
l’équipement régulier en matériel didactique
de pointe. Cette année, des délégations de
toutes les écoles PASCH et des institutions
partenaires sont invitées à la célébration de
la grande journée Pasch Lycée d’Application
Nelson Mandela à Libreville au Gabon. Au
programme, de nombreuses activités cultu-
relles considérées comme les meilleurs résul-
tats des récents projets PASCH : concert, slam,
théâtre, exposition photos, match de football
et bien d'autres surprises.
The “Schools: Partners for the Future”
(PASCH) initiative is a global network
of more than 1,700 PASCH schools
with particular ties to Germany. These
“PASCH” schools benefit from a special
partnership marked by scholarships fre-
quently granted to students, teachers,
and supervisors; participation in regio-
nal extracurricular projects; participa-
tion in meetings with the other African
countries involved; and provision of di-
dactic material on a regular basis. This
year, the initiative is celebrating the
Pasch-day in Gabon, and delegations
from all PASCH schools and various
partner institutions are invited. The
event will feature several cultural ac-
tivities deemed the best resulting from
recent PASCH projects: concerts, spoken
word poetry, theatre, photography ex-
hibition, football match and many other
surprises.

Die Initiative „Schulen: Partner der Zukunft“
(PASCH) verbindet ein weltumspannendes Netz
von mehr als 1.700 PASCH-Schulen mit beson-
derer Deutschlandbindung. Die sogenannten
PASCH-Bildungseinrichtungen profitieren von der
Education
Partnerschaft durch die regelmäßige Vergabe von
Bildungsstipendien an Schüler, Lehrer und Orga-
nisatoren, die Teilnahme an regionalen außer-
schulischen Projekten, Vernetzungsveranstaltun-
gen mit anderen afrikanischen Ländern und die
Bereitstellung von aktuellem didaktischem Mate-
rial. Dieses Jahr feiert die Initiative den Pasch-Tag
in Gabun, zu welchem alle Delegationen der Pasch
Institutionen eingeladen sind. An dieser Verans-
taltung werden Delegationen aller PASCH-Schulen
eingeladen sowie VertreterInnen deutscher und
kamerunischer Regierungsinstitutionen. Viele
Kulturaktivitäten, die als Vorzeigeprojekte von
jüngsten PASCH-Initiativen gelten, stehen auf
dem Programm. Unter anderem: Musikkonzerte,
Poetry-Slam, Theaterstücke, Fotoausstellung und
viele andere Überraschungen.

Language classes at the Goethe-Institut
are not just about learning a language,
but also getting to know a culture. We
use a face-to-face meeting and a pla-
cement test to find out what previous
knowledge you have, then we help you
to choose a suitable course. Our tuition
reflects the most recent knowledge in
teaching and learning research. It is va-
ried and communicative. Speaking, liste-
ning, reading, and writing are practised
in situations based on real-life, using au-
thentic texts. It is also oriented to topical
and inter-cultural subject matter. The-
mes based on regional culture, (online)
projects, and research tasks provide a
variety of opportunities to approach the
subject of German-speaking culture. The
teaching language is German right from
the first lesson. We also have an eLear-
ning platform that provides innovative
and flexible learning opportunities.

Unsere Kurse orientieren sich an den neuesten
Erkenntnissen der Lehr- und Lernforschung.
Sie sind abwechslungsreich und kommuni-
kativ. Sprechen, Hören, Lesen und Schreiben
werden in Situationen des realen Lebens mit
authentischen Texten geübt. Unsere Kurse
orientieren sich auch an aktuellen und in-

3 raisons d’apprendre l'allemand
Quels que soient vos projets d’avenir, l’allemand
vous ouvrira toujours de nombreuses portes. Ap-
prendre l’allemand c’est acquérir des aptitudes qui
vous permettront d’améliorer la qualité de votre vie
professionnelle et privée.
Sciences et recherches : l’allemand est la deuxième
langue la plus importante dans le domaine des
sciences. Dans le domaine de la recherche et du
développement, l’Allemagne est à la troisième place
mondiale et offre des bourses d’étude aux scienti-
fiques étrangers.
Possibilités d’études et de travail en Allemagne :
l’Allemagne octroie de nombreuses bourses pour
étudier dans le pays. Pour les jeunes étrangers, il
existe notamment des visas spécifiques de « congés
professionnels ». Par ailleurs, il existe despermis de
travail particuliers pour certains corps de métiers.
Une carrière internationale : grâce à l’allemand,

The Burden of Memory
Considering German Colonial History in Africa
Du 9 au 16 novembre dernier, Yaoundé
réunissait plus de 180 invités, artistes,
curateurs, experts, médias, volontaires
et partenaires de 6 pays africains et
d'Allemagne. Au cours de cette se-
maine culturelle intitulée " The Burden
of Memory: Considering German Colo-
nial History in Africa" organisée par le

Goethe-Institut, des artistes issus de
diverses disciplines: théâtre, musique,
arts visuels, littérature, slam, film et
performance présentaient leurs concep-
tions de la période coloniale allemande
en Afrique. Avec cette plate-forme, ces
artistes jetaient un regard sur un passé
commun douloureux et ouvraient une fe-
nêtre de réflexion sur le futur.
From 9 to 16 November the Cameroonian
capital has welcomed over 100 guests,
artists, curators, experts, medias, vo-
lunteers and partners from 6 African
countries and Germany. During a cultural
week entitled “The Burden of Memory:
Considering German Colonial History in
Africa” and organised by the Goethe-Ins-
titut, creatives from all possible genres,
theatre, music, visual arts, literature,
film and performance presented diffe-
rent artistic perspectives on German
colonialism. This platform has given the
opportunity of exchanging different ar-
tistic views on a common past, which
also included a reflective way of thinking
about future actions.

formances und Perspektiven mit dem deutschen Administration

schmerzhaften Vergangenheit ermöglichte einen
gemeinsamen Austausch, der eine Verarbeitung
des Vergangenen anregte und gleichzeitig das Nac-
hdenken über die Zukunft forderte.
