As a fully-licensed and regulated bank, N26 must adhere to strict industry standards and
guidelines when it comes to the verification of all potential customers. These vary by nationality,
which is why we are only able to conduct the important step of identity verification with the
supported documents outlined below.

*Please note that Residence Permits are only available as a verification document for select
nationalities. These must also be issued in Germany to European specifications, and valid for a
minimum duration of at least ONE year. Since Nov 2021, we can no longer accept the Sticker
version added to passports. If you only have this version of Resident permit, you will need to
have it exchanged for a card.
