2013, une nouvelle anne de mmoire en Normandie
Comme chaque anne, nalement, depuis 69 ans, les Normands clbrent lanniversaire du Dbarquement alli le 6 Juin. Comme vous le savez, cette commmoration a un caractre national. En 2013, les crmonies comprendront, le 6 juin, un rassemblement des jeunes sur la plage de Vierville-sur-Mer, puis laprs midi un recueillement au Cimetire Amricain de Colleville-sur-Mer, et enn la crmonie nationale Vierville-surMer. Vierville est une petite ville situe lextrmit ouest de la plage dOmaha, au lieu mme o fut construit le port articiel que la tempte du 18-20 juin 1944 devait dtruire. Bien videmment de trs nombreuses crmonies vont se drouler au cours de lt 2013 en souvenir des 80 jours de la Bataille de Normandie, qui fut si meurtrire pour les Normands. La crmonie annuelle en souvenir des victimes civiles aura lieu le dimanche 9 juin Priers dans la Manche, quelques kilomtres au nord de Saint-L. Visiteurs, partagez notre motion et notre reconnaissance envers nos allis venus nous rendre notre LIBERT et apporter la France et lEurope cette Paix que nous savourons depuis lors. 2013, a new year of remembrance in Normandy

As has been the case for the past 69 years it turns out, the people of Normandy have been celebrating the anniversary of the Allied landings on June 6th. As you know, this commemoration takes on a national character. In 2013, the ceremonies will feature, on June 6th, a gathering of young people on the beach of Vierville-sur-Mer, then a moment of contemplation and quiet remembrance at the American Cemetery of Colleville-sur-Mer in the afternoon, and nally the national ceremony at Vierville-sur-Mer. Vierville is a small town situated at the far west end of Omaha Beach, in the very same place where the temporary harbour was built and which the storm of June 18-20, 1944 was to destroy. Many ceremonies will naturally be held throughout the summer of 2013 in remembrance of the Battle of Normandy which lasted 80 days and claimed so many civilian lives. The annual ceremony in memory of civilian victims will be held on Sunday, June 9th in Priers, in the Manche department, a few miles north of Saint-L. As visitors, come and share our emotion and gratitude towards our Allies who came to restore our FREEDOM and the Peace we have been enjoying ever since back to France and Europe. Set up and chaired by Raymond TRIBOULET as early as 1947, the D-Day Commemoration Committee (Comit du Dbarquement), chaired by his successor Admiral (2S) BRAC de LA PERRIRE since 1999, is in charge of the annual ceremonies commemorating the allied landings on the Normandy coast on June 6th, 1944. A French law dated May 21st, 1947 gave these ceremonies a national status.
