01dB provides technical solutions suited to all situations encountered by field or laboratory
experimentalists. For both room and building acoustics, site characteristics (background noise level and
spectrum, type of walls, typology, etc.) require the use of specific equipment.
In this context, 01dB offers two ranges of power amplifiers connected to an omni-directional source and
addressing all possible situations. The properties of each amplifier allow to tackle all problems
encountered during field measurements.
The 01dB solution consists of:
'2: omni-directional noise source
05: power amplifier including a pink and white noise generator
)3: very high power amplifier
For instance, based on its power characteristics, )3 will be most suited to measure a high isolation
to airborne noise. Furthermore, using 05, owners of 01dB sound level meters (Solo, SIP95, etc.)
will now have an amplifier that includes a white and pink noise generator.
Of course, these technical solutions were designed based on the current regulations and meet the
requirements of national and international standards.
This manual describes the characteristics of our technical solutions for building acoustics, along with
optimal use and safety instructions.

The omni-directional noise source '2 is composed of twelve very robust speakers.
Their membrane is made up of glass fibre. Speakers are connected one to another so
as to get phase radiation. Each speaker is placed in a very robust dodecahedronshaped housing.
In order to give the required omni-directional properties to the radiated acoustic field,
the '2 dodecahedron should be used on a reinforced tripod (supplied with the
package). Also, this tripod ensures a great mobility to the equipment. The carrying
handle allows for handiness without affecting acoustic properties.
6WDQGDUGSDFNDJH
The standard package of the '2 noise source includes the following elements:

8VHSUHFDXWLRQV

Unfold the tripod and make it stable on the floor. Check that the three wheels are in contact
with a planar surface so that the whole equipment is stable.
Unpack '2 from its fly case using the handle.
Place '2 in the tube of the tripod.
Tighten the system using the screws.
Connect '2 to the power amplifier using the appropriate connection cable and turn the
amplifier on (see Paragraphs 7.4 and 8.3).

The )3 power amplifier is light and not very bulky. It is ideal for mobile high-quality sound systems
and for applications requiring high sound power. Designed as a standardized 19 rack it can be inserted
into a measurement rack or in a carrying fly-case.
