Rsum :
La modlisation des informations, appele BIM (building information modeling), est un processus en plein
essor dans le domaine de la construction. Son but est de partager des informations fiables tout au long de la
dure de vie du btiment.
Lentreprise IM Projet, spcialise dans le management de projet, sest interroge sur limpact du BIM dans
les missions de ses ingnieurs gestionnaires de projet. En effet, lentreprise a pu constater en interne que le
nombre de projets traits en BIM ne cesse daugmenter.
Pour rpondre cette problmatique, jai ralis conjointement deux missions : travailler en tant que
gestionnaire de projet sur lhpital Edouard Herriot afin de dcouvrir le mtier et les attentes des ingnieurs et
dun autre ct une mission de recherche sur les logiciels BIM disponibles sur le march.
Concernant la deuxime partie de mission, ma premire tche a consist me renseigner sur les projets
concerns par lutilisation du BIM. Je me suis aperue que les projets de grande envergure ainsi que les plus
petits peuvent utiliser le BIM et que trois utilisations majeures se dtachent : le BIM pour effectuer la
synthse, le BIM pour les enjeux architecturaux et enfin de BIM pour les mtrs et dimensionnements. Ces
trois utilisations peuvent tre combines les unes aux autres.

Par la suite, il ma fallu mintresser aux logiciels BIM existants et notamment ceux mettant profit la 4
me
dimension du BIM. En effet, cest la 4
dimension qui concerne le management de projet car elle permet
dajouter une dimension temporelle la maquette 3D. Le BIM sera donc un outil supplmentaire lingnieur
pour rpondre sa mission de gestion des dlais.
Mes recherches ont fait apparaitre deux logiciels majeurs capables de rpondre aux attentes de lentreprise :
Synchro et Navisworks Manage. Chacun des deux logiciels a ses propres avantages et inconvnients. Jai pu
rassembler lensemble des points cls de chaque logiciel dans un tableau comparatif. Ainsi lentreprise IM
Projet possde lensemble des informations ncessaires pour faire le choix le plus appropri.

Building Information Modeling, also called BIM, is a process in booming in the building industry. His goal is to
share accurate information all along the building's life.
The IM Project Company, specialized in project management, questioned the impact of BIM in the missions of
its engineers. Indeed, the company has seen internally that the number of projects handled by BIM is
increasing.
To answer this problem I had to realize two tasks simultaneously: working as a project manager at the
Edouard Herriot hospital to discover the profession and expectations of engineers and on the other hand a
research mission about BIM software available on the market.
Regarding the second part of the mission, my first task was to learn about which kind of projects are involved
in the use of BIM. I have noticed that the large-scale projects and smaller could use BIM and 3 major uses
appeared: BIM for synthesizing, BIM for architectural issues and finally BIM for quantity surveying and sizing.
This 3 uses can be combined with each other.
Thereafter I had to focus on the existing BIM software and especially those using the 4th dimension of BIM.
Indeed, it is the 4th dimension that concerns the project management because it allows to add a time
dimension to the 3D model. So the BIM would be an additional tool for the engineer to meet its deadlines
management mission.
My research brings up two software that can answer the company's expectations: Synchro and Navisworks
Manage. Each software has its own advantages and disadvantages. I was able to bring together all the key
points of each software in a comparative table. So the company IM Project had all the information necessary
to make their choice of software.
