OBJET INSTALLATION POWERPATH

1. Description

Cette fiche de tâche a pour objectif de décrire le mode opératoire pour installer Power Path (5.0) sur un serveur
Solaris 10.

Remarque : c’est le contexte Dalkia qui a servi à ce document.

2. Prerequis

On se base sur le document « Installation and Administration Guide » pour EMC PowerPath for Solaris Version 5.0.

2.1. Désactivation générale de MPXIO (outil de multipathing natif à Solaris 10)

Le fichier /kernel/drv/fp.conf doit contenir la ligne :

mpxio-disable="yes";

2.2. Paramètre système

2.2.1. Demandé par le document d’installation

Rajout dans le fichier /etc/system de la ligne :

set ssd:ssd_io_time=0x3c

Remarque : ce paramètre spécifie la valeur du timeout pour les opérations sur les disques gérés par ssd. En fait
cette valeur est celle par défaut.

2.2.2. Rajout par rapport à d’autres configurations (celle de udkoap01)

set ssd:ssd_max_throttle=<N>

Remarque : This ssd_max_throttle parameter specifies the maximum number of commands that the SSD driver
can queue to the host adapter driver. The default value is 256, but you must set the parameter to a value less than
or equal to a maximum queue depth for each connected LUN. Determine the value by using the following formula:
256 ÷ (LUNs per adapter) where LUNs per adapter is the largest number of LUNs assigned to a single adapter.

set fcp:ssfcp_enable_auto_configuration=1

Remarque : in Solaris 10, fcp:ssfcp_enable_auto_configuration=1 by default which means new devices added to
the fabric automagically gets configured . Unlike in S8/S9 wherein cfgadm -c configure has to be invoked.

3. Mode opératoire :

3.1. Où est le Soft ?

On trouve le Soft dans /root/softs/EMC/PowerPath/5.0.2/Solaris/ sur adminfire.

3.2. Installation

# pkgadd -d .

Il est inutile de rebooter le serveur !!!
