a Apolo, dios de las artes y la música, no emitía en vida ningún sonido, excepto un sordo ronquido.
Pero al acercarse su muerte emitía un canto melodioso como premonición de la misma.
La leyenda la podemos rastrear no solo entre los poetas griegos, sino entre los latinos (Virgilio y
Plinio, entre otros) Leonardo da Vinci en el Renacimiento y musicalmente aparece en la bellísima
melodía de "El carnaval de los animales" de Camilo Saint-Saens (1905).
