Goveriunenti hereby ma,kesthe following Regulations to
amend the Principal Regulations, 2007caUed "OCl's
Revised BOS Course Regulations, 2007":..-
1. Short title and commencement:--(i) These
" Regulations m~y be called the Dental Council 'of India
RevisedBDS Course(2ndAmenclment) R.egulations;2010.
(ii) They shall come bito force from the date of their
publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Revised BOS Course Regulations.2007, the
foliowing additionslmodificationsldeletioilslsubstitutions.
shall be as indicated therein:-
3. In Chapter I under'theheading "Admission to the
DentalCourse-Eligibiiity Criteria ", the followiltgshall be
added after sub-clause 2 (t):-
"3. 3% seats of the annual sanctioned intakecapa.
city shall be filled up by candidates with locomo~ory
disability of lower Umbsbetween SO%to 70%. .
Provided that in case any IIcat in this 3% quota
remains unfilled on account of unavailabity of

Providedturther that this entire exercise' shall be
completed by each Dental College/Institution as per
the statutory time schedule for admissiol)s,andin no
'caseany admission will be made in the BOS course·
after 30th of September."
.4: The' following proviso shall be added before the
clause S (ii) under the heading "selection of students",
"Provided that the eligibility criteria for admission to
persons with locomotory disability oflower limbs in
terms of Clause 3 above-will be a minimumof 45%
marks instead of 50 % taken together in qualifying
examination and competitive entrance examination
for admission in BOS course:'

No.DE-87(1)-2015 - In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 20 of the Dentists Act. 1948, the Dental
Council of India, with the previous sanction of the Central Government, hereby makes the following Amendment to the
existing principle Revised BDS Course Regulations, 2007, published in Part III, section 4 of the Gazette of India,
Extraordinary, dated 10'h September 2007:-
Short title and commencement:-
(i) These Regulations may be called the Revised BDS Course (7'" Amendment) Regulations, 2015
(ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In Revised BDS Course Regulations, 2007, the following insertionlmodificationsldelctionslsubstitutions, shall be
us indicated therein>
3. In the exisung Regulations under hcading captioned as "EXAMINATIONS", sub-heading "SCHEME
Examinations" and sub-heading "I B.D.S. Examination:" the existing clause that "Any student who does not clear
the I" year BDS examination in all the subjects within 3 years from the date of admission shall be discharged from
the course."
Substituted by the following clause thau-
"Any student who does not clear the BDS Course in all the subjects within a period or 9
years, including one year Compulsory Rotatory paid Internship from the date of
admission shall be discharged from the course",

AMENDMENT NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 12th July, 2017
No. DE-87(1)(8)-2017.---In exercise of the powers conferred upon the Dental Council of India under
Section 20 of the Dentists Act, 1948, the Dental Council of India, with the previous sanction of the Central
Government, hereby makes the following Amendments to the existing Principal "Revised BDS Course
Regulations, 2007" published and notified in Part III, Section 4 of the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, dated
10.9.2007:-
1. Short title and commencement:—
(i) These Regulations may be called the Revised BDS Course (8th Amendment) Regulations,
2017.
(ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. Under the heading "REGULATION FOR THE DEGREE OF BACHELOR OF DENTAL
SURGERY, 2007" the heading 'ADMISSION, SELECTION, AND MIGRATION' the title shall be
read as 'ADMISSION, SELECTION, COUNSELLING AND MIGRATION'.
3. In heading 2. above, under clause II. 'Selection of Students' the following shall be added:-
H. A Common Counselling.
1 There shall be a common counselling for admission to BDS course in all dental educational
institutions on the basis of merit list of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test.
2 The designated authority for counselling for the 15% All India Quota seats of the contributing
States and all BDS seats of Dental Education Institutions of the Central Government,
universities established by an Act of Parliament and the Deemed Universities shall be the
Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government
of India.
3 The counselling for admission to BDS course in a State/Union Territory, including, Dental
Education Institutions established by the State Government, University established by an Act
of State/Union Territory Legislature, Trust, Society, Minority Institutions shall be conducted
by the State/Union Territory Government.
4 In case any dispute arises on such common counselling, the respective State Government shall
refer the matter to the Central Government and its decision shall be final, in this regard.
