INTRODUCTION
FONCTIONNEMENT

INTRODUCTION
MACHINE FUNCTION The LINCO Eviscerator removes the viscera and lungs from the
widest possible range of broiler sizes.
Performance is consistent at all line speeds. This carousel
machine is driven by the overhead conveyor.
The upper and lower head assemblies work in unison, ensuring
that all birds are in correct position to allow the viscera to be
drawn completely.
The lower heads are controlled by adjustable cams. As the bird
is automatically positioned on the machine, the lower head
centres and supports the bird at the shoulders to ensure perfect
positioning for the drawing operation.
The drawing spoon is guided down through the cavity opening
and along the breast to the crop cavity, where it closes gently
against the backbone.
On retraction, the spoon brings with it the heart, liver, gizzard,
lungs and viscera. Sanitary washing of all heads and product
contact areas takes place after each cycle.
NOTE The specifications as stated herein are the most current at the
time of publication. However, consistent with LINCO FOOD
SYSTEM standard of continuous product improvement, we
reserve the right to change the design without notice or obligation
on our part to modify any equipment previously sold or delivered.
MACHINE COMPONENTS
FRAME ASSEMBLY The frame assembly provides the basic structure for the
machine. It includes the frame, the drip pan, guide bars and the
height adjustment system. Within this frame the barrel is
mounted and is free to move up or down, depending on track
and shackle requirements.
BARREL ASSEMBLY The barrel assembly consists of the centre shaft, the upper and
lower plates, the cam, the gear drive and the head assemblies.
The cam is secured to the centre shaft which in turn is firmly
secured to the frame. The head assemblies which are attached
to the upper and lower plates rotate around the cam and centre
shaft and are in line with the overhead conveyor.
DRIVE ASSEMBLY The drive assembly consists of a track curve, drive wheel, drive
pin and push bar. The drive wheel engages the chain on the
overhead conveyor by means of a toothed rim which engages
on a vertical chain link to compensate for chain stretch. The
drive wheel is driven by the overhead conveyor and in turn
drives the barrel assembly via the push bar which attaches to
the upper plate.
Eviscerator MK-6 11
INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
CHECK MACHINE Check the machine for damage caused during shipping.
Also check machine for correct rotation.
POSITION MACHINE Determine the position of the machine on the floor according to
the layout. The area from the floor to the track must be free of
any obstructions such as water lines etc.
POSITION CHAIN Determine bottom track / centre of chain dimension. Adjust the
track if needed to the correct bottom track / centre chain
dimensions and check with a sample trolley if the wheels run
free from the track when the trolley is on the drive wheel.
REMOVE PALLET Move the machine with pallet close to the position where the
machine has to be installed. Hoist up the machine using the
hoisting eye on the main shaft. Remove the pallet but leave the
black iron transport legs on the machine.
SHACKLE LENGTH Check if the existing shackle length matches the machine.
If not, adjust the top and/or bottom frame part so that the
bottom of the shackle is level or slightly above the leg loop of
the machine when the machine is in its highest position.
FASTEN MACHINE Position the machine and level it with the support legs to match
the existing track. Weld the track of the machine to the existing
track while the machine is covered up to prevent any damage
from welding or grinding. Fasten the machine from the two
frame support plates to the overhead steel construction.
REMOVE TRANSPORT LEGS Drop the adjustable legs onto the floor, tighten them and
remove the black iron transport legs.
Eviscerator MK-6 12
ADJUST CAMS,
CHECK MACHINE Lower the barrel so the drive pin is free from the drive wheel.
Adjust cams, attach guide bars, rotate machine checking for
damaged parts and check for free movement of all parts. Raise
the barrel back in working position. Check if the drive pin is
correctly positioned in relation to the drive wheel and the break
pin device.
CHECK MACHINE Check the machine for bent or damaged parts prior to running.
Eviscerator MK-6 13
PRE-START PROCEDURES
CAUTION! Stop the overhead conveyor and lock out to prevent
accidental starting.
Failure to do so may result in malfunction of the machine,
personal injury, property damage or death.
ADJUST ENTRANCE
GUIDE BAR Adjust entrance guide bar so that the birds feed onto the loops
smoothly and the nozzles cleanly enters the birds’ cavities.
POSITION SHACKLE
GUIDE BAR The shackle guide bar should be positioned so that there is no
interference with the machine heads as they ascend and
descend.
ADJUST SPRAY NOZZLES Adjust the spray nozzles located at the rear of the machine so
that they thoroughly wash each head as it passes.
ADJUST TIMING Adjust the timing of the machine to where the birds feed onto
the leg loops smoothly. This is accomplished by adjusting the
threaded drive rod mounted on the drive wheel to either
advance or retard the loop.
SHACKLE CONDITION Check the general condition of the shackles. Bent or otherwise
irregular shackles should be repaired or replaced to ensure
optimum performance.
Eviscerator MK-6 14
DRAWING SPOONS Drawing spoons must be cleaned at the rear of the machine. If
tissue or other residue is building up around the tip of the spoon
this must be removed with a hard brush while the machine is
not in motion.
PRE-RINSE The machine should be rinsed down with a hose during each
break and immediately after daily production to prevent
accumulation of blood or other poultry residues. The machine
should be hosed down from top to bottom.
CLEANING & SANITATION Use a self-foaming alkaline / chlorinated cleaner that will not
attack aluminium, delrin or rubber. Coat the machine
generously with the cleaner following the manufacturer’s
directions. Allow sufficient time for the cleaner to penetrate and
loosen the soil before rinsing. Thoroughly rinse the machine
down and allow to dry.
Eviscerator MK-6 15
TROUBLESHOOTING
NOTE When a problem arises, first determine whether it is a problem
with an individual head or with the complete machine. A
complete machine adjustment for an individual head problem
could have serious adverse effects on the performance of the
remaining heads.
Infeed not correct Timing of machine in relation to drive wheel and shackles not
correct.
Machine adjustment too low(tail on the shortest bird has to go
just underneath the leg loop)
Shackles swinging
Shackle guide bar too far out on infeed
Lungs not removed Machine out of timing: shackles not straight down
Spoons bent (out or sideways)
Machine adjustment too high on big birds
Spoon pressure springs broken or too weak
Spoons clogged up
Belt not tight enough on outgoing end
Adjust last pulley wheel closer to jacket
Wrong type of spoon (spoon with teeth should be used if lungs
need to be removed)
Broken gall Spoon too tight against jacket on outgoing end at the kidney
area
Spoons too narrow for birds with big gizzards
Spoon tips worn (sharp edges)
