Merci de votre intérêt envers XMedius. Ce document explique l'évolution de XM Fax par rapport aux versions
précédentes. Il décrit les nouvelles fonctionnalités introduites et établit la liste de celles qui ont changé. Les
exigences du système et le matériel supporté se trouvent dans le Manuel d'installation et de maintenance
de XM Fax.
Remarque : Certaines des fonctionnalités décrites dans ce document peuvent être activées ou
désactivées selon votre licence XM Fax. Pour plus d'informations, veuillez nous contacter (voir

À propos de XM Fax
XM Fax est la solution de serveur fax IP de XMedius conçue selon la norme du protocole FoIP (Fax over IP)
T.38. Mis sur le marché en 2002, il demeure le pionnier et leader mondial en matière de solution de serveur
de fax IP entièrement logicielle. XM Fax se connecte directement aux plus importantes passerelles VoIP,
comme celles de Cisco, d'Avaya, d'Audiocodes et d'Alcatel, et fonctionne également avec les cartes de fax
afin de préserver les investissements déjà effectués dans l'architecture réseau. XM Fax est entièrement
compatible avec Windows et est utilisable de pair avec d'autres produits partenaires de solutions de
fournisseurs d'applications serveur comme Cisco (SRE-V), Citrix, IBM, Microsoft, Novell, SAP, et VMware.
Afin de demeurer leader et innovateur dans le domaine des solutions de fax IP, XM Fax est offert en 3
éditions :
• Édition SP pour Service Provider
• Édition EE pour Enterprise
• Édition X pour Express
Chaque édition offre des fonctionnalités spécifiques afférentes aux exigences de fax de chaque scénario de
déploiement. Dans tous les cas, les solutions logicielles de serveur fax XM Fax permettent une productivité
accrue, d'un fonctionnement optimisé, de coûts totaux de télécommunications réduits, ainsi que des avantages
d'utiliser un environnement virtuel contribuant au virage vert, tout en ouvrant la voie pour une migration vers
des infrastructures réseau fondées sur le VoIP.
À l'instar de toute mise à niveau de XM Fax, il est fortement recommandé de procéder à une évaluation
technique exhaustive des impacts et des risques accompagnant la mise à niveau. Il est suggéré de valider
avec un système mis à jour hors environnement de production avant de transférer les modifications en
production.
XM Fax 9 vise tout particulièrement la sécurité et sa configuration novatrice offre un système plus robuste,
conçu pour intégrer les normes de sécurité les plus récentes. Lors de l'étude des impacts de cette toute
nouvelle configuration de sécurité, nous vous recommandons d'examiner en premier lieu les modules qui
communiquent avec XM Fax et vérifier si certaines actions sont nécessaires.
Configuration de sécurité renforcée des composants centraux de XM Fax
• L'association avec une version plus ancienne de XM Fax nécessite que vous activiez un mode de
compatibilité de la sécurité. Pour plus d'informations, voir l'article de la base de connaissances n° 504875.
Notez que : Il est recommandé de ne pas laisser votre système en mode de compatibilité de sécurité plus
longtemps que nécessaire.
Configuration de sécurité renforcée du serveur d'applications Web Apache Tomcat
Par défaut, le connecteur HTTPS Apache Tomcat est configuré pour offrir les protocoles TLS 1.2 et 1.3
seulement. Si vos navigateurs et intégrations de services Web communiquent directement avec ce connecteur
(au lieu de passer par un serveur Web frontal tel qu'IIS), assurez-vous qu'ils soient compatibles avec le
protocole TLS 1.2. Vous pouvez également choisir d'adoucir la configuration HTTPS d'Apache Tomcat et de
réactiver les protocoles qui étaient auparavant pris en charge. Consulter l'article de la base de connaissances
n° 504876.
Étudiez les possibilités suivantes :
• Emploi de client Web, de Web Admin ou SendFAX (lors d'une connexion avec le protocole HTTPS) --
Vérifiez que votre navigateur prend en charge au moins le protocole TLS 1.2.
Intégrations de services Web
• Assurez-vous que vos applications intégrant les services Web XM Fax soient compatibles avec au moins
le protocole TLS 1.2.
Applications/connecteurs pour IMF (ces applications intègrent le service Web XM Fax)
• Certains connecteurs doivent être mis à niveau afin qu'ils puissent prendre en charge le protocole TLS
1.2; vous devez donc étudier l'historique des modifications de votre connecteur sur notre plateforme de
prise en charge.
• Pour ce qui a trait aux applications pour IMF intégrées, assurez-vous que votre IMF permet la prise en
charge du protocole TLS 1.2. Certaines IMF peuvent requérir une mise à niveau du micrologiciel.
Mise à niveau de Python
• Assurez-vous de passer en revue tous les scripts de Python et de les mettre à l'essai afin de vous assurer
qu'ils ne sont pas endommagés, dans la mesure où la mise à niveau de Python 2.x à Python 3.x
s'accompagne d'importants changements dans le langage utilisé.
Cryptage au repos
Le cryptage au repos est maintenant en place, ajoutant une couche supplémentaire de sécurité au système
XM Fax .
• Lorsque cette fonction est activée, tous les nouveaux fichiers fax sont stockés cryptés à l'aide d'une clé
(elle-même stockée cryptée à l'aide de la clé MasterKey) dans le magasin média local.
• Les clés ne sont pas partagées entre les serveurs de fax – les instances HA ne partagent pas les clés
(l'une peut être cryptée et l'autre non).
• Un format de fichier crypté exclusif est utilisé qui contient le nom de la clé nécessaire pour décrypter le
fichier et un hachage de validation utilisé pour valider le succès du décryptage
• Un outil en ligne de commande Python est disponible qui peut être utilisé pour crypter et décrypter des
fichiers individuels ou l'ensemble du magasin média

Renforcement de la sécurité
Les nouvelles fonctions de XM Fax renforcent la sécurité existante.
• XM Fax prend désormais en charge le protocole TLS 1.3. Par défaut, TLS 1.2 et TLS 1.3 sont activés.
SSLv3, TLS 1.0 et TLS 1.1 sont désormais désactivés.
• Garantit le secret de transmission à l'aide des derniers chiffres TLS 1.3
• Utilise la dernière version d'OpenSSL (1.1.1c) et le dernier fournisseur de sécurité Java 11 (Zulu)
• Le système peut être exécuté en mode Compatibilité qui désactive certaines fonctions de sécurité pour
permettre l'interopérabilité avec les serveurs de XM Fax dont les certificats n'ont pas été mis à niveau.

Support de IPv6
Le serveur de XM Fax supporte maintenant entièrement les environnements IPV6, y compris ceux configurés
pour IPV6 seulement et ceux configurés avec des piles doubles (IPV4 et IPV6).
Mode de lecture systématique des codes barres et indexation des valeurs des codes barres
XM Fax peut maintenant être configuré pour scanner systématiquement tous les fax à la recherche de codes
barres et enregistrer les valeurs résultantes dans les métadonnées du fax.
• La configuration est disponible par Site, via un nouvel onglet Additional Fields dans General Settings.
• L'option – Enable Indexing – peut être activée indépendamment pour les fax entrants et/ou sortants.
• Les valeurs résultantes sont enregistrées dans le champ Barcode (même si le champ est invisible dans
les interfaces).
• Lorsqu'elle est activée, cette option remplace le modèle par défaut d'analyse à la demande (c'est-à-dire
avec les analyses de codes barres demandées par des règles et des destinations spécifiques, et les
valeurs résultantes non enregistrées).
Important : Dans l'ensemble, quel que soit le modèle de numérisation utilisé (systématique ou à la
demande), le traitement des codes barres peut légèrement affecter les performances de votre serveur
de fax (en termes de temps de traitement et de ressources système) si sa configuration n'est pas
soigneusement effectuée.
Important : Dans l'ensemble, l'activation de l'extraction OCR peut affecter considérablement les
performances de votre serveur de fax (en termes de temps de traitement et de ressources système) si
la configuration n'est pas effectuée avec soin. De plus, il est recommandé de n'activer que l'option de
contenu interrogeable (PDF ou OCR Text) qui correspond mieux à vos besoins (car ils ne partagent pas
le même processus).
• Les administrateurs ont maintenant la possibilité d'activer/désactiver l'envoi de notifications poussées lors
de la réception de fax sur les appareils sur lesquels l'application mobile est installée :
• Cette option de configuration peut être effectuée par le biais des Paramètres généraux (General
Settings) du système.
• L'activation de cette option nécessite un accès Internet depuis votre serveur XM Fax vers les services
de notification poussée iOS/Android.
• Les paramètres du proxy peuvent également être configurés, si nécessaire, via un onglet séparé (voir
Paramètres du proxy à la page 7).
Changements et améliorations
XM Fax Hybride
• La XM Fax fonctionnalité Hybride qui était disponible par le biais d'un patch dans la version précédente
de XM Fax fait maintenant partie intégrante de XM Fax 9.0.
• Les paramètres du proxy qui étaient configurables dans XM Fax l'onglet Hybride sont maintenant configurés
via un onglet séparé (voir Paramètres du proxy à la page 7).
• Rappelons que :
• Le principe de XM Fax Hybride est de jumeler un XM Fax serveur sur place avec la XM Fax plate-forme
Cloud alimentée et hébergée par XMedius.
• Le but d'une telle intégration est de tirer profit, de façon permanente ou occasionnelle, des infrastructures
de télécommunications de XM Fax pour envoyer ou recevoir des fax.
Paramètres du proxy
• Les paramètres du proxy (qui peuvent devoir être réglés lors de la configuration XM Fax de fonctions
nécessitant un accès Internet) sont désormais centralisés pour l'ensemble du système :
• Un nouvel onglet a été ajouté dans les Paramètres généraux système des interfaces d'administration.
• Ces paramètres s'appliquent à de multiples fonctions telles que les notifications poussées des
applications mobiles, XM Fax Hybride et les services de relais SMS sortants (lorsqu'ils sont activés).
Activation/désactivation de l'OCR
• Les administrateurs système ont maintenant la possibilité d'activer/désactiver globalement la fonctionnalité
OCR sur un site (dans les propriétés du site).
• Cette option a une incidence sur le routage OCR et les fonctions de génération de fichiers PDF/texte
consultables.
Services Web
• De nouvelles méthodes ont été ajoutées pour activer la fonctionnalité de transfert de fax.
• Une nouvelle méthode GetOutgoingFaxAdvanced a été ajoutée pour compléter l'ensemble des méthodes
déjà disponibles pour les fax envoyés (sortants) et reçus (entrants).
Installation de XM Fax
• Le module d'extension MS Word (macros fax) peut maintenant être installé en silence sur les postes de
travail des utilisateurs via une ligne de commande.
• Les installations de serveurs, y compris IIS et le redirecteur ISAPI, n'ont plus besoin de la IIS6 Metabase
Compatibility pour être activées.
• Lors de nouveaux déploiements, le programme d'installation demande de sélectionner l'adresse IP à
utiliser pour les communications entre les modules XM Fax. Il est ainsi plus facile de configurer correctement
les systèmes avec plusieurs adresses IP ou plusieurs piles IP (IPv4 et IPv6) et d'éviter les problèmes de
configuration où toutes les adresses ne sont pas accessibles entre les systèmes distribués.
Client Web
• L'écran des options utilisateur du Client Web a été revu et restructuré pour une meilleure expérience
utilisateur.

Azul Zulu JDK Diverses fonctionnalités de XM Fax utilisent Java. Java n'est pas 11.0.4

Si un logiciel tiers utilisé par XM Fax nécessite une mise à niveau, celle-ci sera gérée automatiquement
par le processus de mise à niveau de XM Fax.
Toutefois, les points suivants peuvent nécessiter votre attention :

la page 24) si vous éprouvez des problèmes lors de la mise à niveau ou si la version actuelle de XM Fax
ne figure pas dans la liste des versions compatibles.
