• *Notice* when telling a profession, you don’t need
the word “a” or “an” like in English (I am a teacher).
Just use subject, the correct form of Etre, and the
profession.

• Nous sommes à l'école.

– We are at school.
 *Note*
• DON’T use être when you are saying what
you are doing in the present.
– For instance, to say “I am watching TV”, you
will not use any form of the verb être, even
though in English it seems we should.
• This is included in the verb you use.
– I am watching TV
– Je regarde la télé .
• NOT je suis regarder la télé
– (That makes no sense.)
