Short review of the conditional tense:

Je voudrais commander une pizza

Il voudrait de la sauce sur ses spaghettis

Elle voudrait du vin

J'aimerais avoir du fromage

Il aimerait avoir quelque chose de froid

Tu aimerais avoir une baguette

Activity 1:

Teacher will use a restaurant menu. The menu should be distributed to students. The menu will

have three sections: entrée, plat principal, dessert, and a few drinks. Menu should use a mix of

common and special meals, typical French meals and typical words used in gastronomy.

In pairs or in groups, students will have 10 minutes to create a quick dialogue from the topics

below

• friends at a restaurant are discussing the menu, saying what they would like, and giving each

other advice

• the waiter is taking orders

"Je vais distribuer un menu à tout le monde. Avec un partenaire ou un petit groupe, vous allez

jouer une conversation entre le serveur et le client, commander ce que vous voulez manger ou

avoir une conversation avec votre ami sur ce que vous voulez comme sur le menu. Assurez-vous

d'utiliser le conditionnel (J’aimerais, tu aimerais, il aimerait, je voudrais, tu voudrais, il

voudrait)"
Students will present a 3-5-minute skit in the conditional tense will be corrected at the end of

each dialogue.

“Tu as très bien fait. J'aime la façon dont vous avez incorporé le ____ et utilisez le temps

conditionnel. La prochaine fois, essayez de ______.”

“Je pense que tout le monde a fait un excellent travail aujourd'hui. Pour tes devoirs je veux

manger 3 restaurants partout dans le monde”
