Writing to a pen pal

Unit Goals: Students will be able to explain food traditions/culture, students will describe
how to cook a certain dish and students will be able to name their food and Drink preferences

Lesson Objectives:
Students will be able to use learned vocabulary and explain how to cook a certain dish
Students will be able to write a list of their favourite foods
Students will be able to use what they learned to write a comparison of food in France to where
they are from

Materials Needed: Nice sheets of paper and nice pens

Planning letter organizer

Lesson Plan Activities: “Aujourd'hui, nous allons utiliser les informations de tout ce que

nous avons appris dans cette unité. Tout le monde va écrire une lettre à un correspondant que

nous allons envoyer à une classe en France. Vous allez écrire sur les différences culturelles entre

la nourriture et les repas en France vs ici, votre nourriture préférée à manger et comment faire un

plat de votre choix”.

Students will have the entire class period to plan and write a letter to a pen pal in France about

the cultural differences, their favourite food to eat and how to make a dish of their choosing.

Students will eventually mail the letters and wait for a response.
Closure/Homework: ”Si vous n'avez pas terminé votre lettre, veuillez la terminé à la maison.

Nous nous en occuperons et les posterons demain”.
