1 PURPOSE
This document provides technical requirements about communication protocol between the
2 electronics units which composed the SYEGON system :
For SYEGON IIS vesion :
• ECU : Electronic Control Unit,
• RCP : Remote Control Panel.
For SYEGON POWER version :
• EPCU : Electronic and Pneumatic Control Unit,
• RCP : Remote Control Panel.

PG : Parameter Group
TPCUMS : J1939 message « Tire Pressure Control Unit Mode and Status »
3 TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
In SYEGON IIIS version and SYEGON POWER standard software version the
communication between ECU or EPCU and RCP is managed through 6 specifics parameter
groups according to [A1] [A2] and [A3].
In SYEGON POWER MULTI EPCU software version the communication between EPCU
and RCP is managed through 5 specifics parameter groups according to [A1] [A2] and
[A3].

TPCUCP
TPCUMS parameter group is implemented to send tire pressure check interval to ECU and to
transmit CTIS mode and status.
ECU uses this parameter group as “watch dog” from RCP.

A EPCU knows the address of the RCP, it is of a configuration item. The RCP Syegon knows its
own address but not the EPCUs nor the number of EPCU connected.
The following principle is applied: a EPCU power alone can not initiate the connection with the
RCP, it must always expect the initiative of the RCP, is receiving the message sent by the latter
CMDRCP. This message type is PdU 2 (diffusion), it is then received by all EPCUs. The EPCU
who receives a message back SEPCU type PdU1 (sent) directly to the RCP Syegon. Thereof by its
receipt will therefore know the address of the EPCU and configuration elements contained in the
message when the EPCU is a fixed type.
In general mode, the RCP commands are supported by the message CMDRCP and the state
feedback of the UPR by the messageSTATEPCU.
This exchange occurs at the period of 200 ms. The EPCUs receive the message CMDRCP,
processes it and returns their status message STATEPCU. The RCP is developing a state table as
and when able to receive messages, and then to originate from the period of 200ms, makes the
display of these states and in developing the new message CMDRCP based statements received and
operator controls.
Supervision time on the message STATEPCU is set up to detect a possible loss of the EPCU (600
ms). It is the same for the EPCU must monitor the presence of RCP and placed in OFF mode for
loss of RCP.

3.1.2.3 POWER
At power up, the RCP sends periodically (200ms) CMDRCP message with the following
parameters:
The message to the effect of inviting EPCUs to signal their presence by sending the message
SEPCU and maintain this shipment as the contents of the first byte = 0xFF. It also forces EPCUs to
place themselves in readiness to start or login. The principle is valid for a global power, and for
accidental restart of the RCP.

The PG "SEPCU" is sent to the RCP by the EPCU to demonstrate his presence and to communicate
configuration information. Furthermore, due to the PG type PdU1, RCP unambiguously recovers the
address of the sender EPCU.
