2.6 CHUPS
The voice services provided by BX10 Integrated Service Platform are realized
by the CHUPS and corresponding service interface cards. The CHUPS is in
charge of data send-receive, data processing and network management
information arrangement, and the interface cards provides interfaces to the
voice service equipment, such as telephone sets, magnet telephone sets,
exchanges, etc. The service interface cards convert the real line signaling and
voice signals sent from different equipment to digital signals and send them to
the CHUPS, where they shall be processed and sent to the opposite end. At the
opposite end, such signals will be restored to the real line signaling and analog
speech signals that could be identified by the user equipment in order to
complete the call duration and voice transmission. The service interface cards
include the 2W4WCHUC, CHUFXOC, CHUFXSC, EMC, MAC and CARC
according to the services provided.
The indicator lights on the panel are as follows:
20 , 40
The indicator lights on the front panel of the CHUPS are defined as follows:
RUN: it flickers when the program runs normally and it is off when the
program does not run normally.
21 , 40
1-8: the voice channel is utilized when the light is constantly on, and it is idle
when the light is off.
Each board could provide the access to 8 channels of voice service.
Classification:
CHUPS BX10_CHUPS

CHUFXOC BX10_CHUFXOC
CHUFXSC BX10_CHUFXSC
EMC BX10_EMC
MAC BX10_MAC
CARC
BX10_CARC
Applications:
CHUPS: it provides various services with cards plugged and it could provide
8 voice channels at best.
2W4WCHUC: each card provides 2 2W/4W voice channels with adjustable
attenuation as well as the independent VF channel.
CHUFXOC and CHUFXSC: Automatic station set signalling card
common telephone interface is provided, and CHUFXOC is adopted for the
connection with the exchange and CHUFXSC is used for the connection with
the user telephone. Each card provides 2 ways of 2W voice channels with
fixed attenuation.
EMC: provide one way E/M signalling interface (1E1M- 2E2M, type 1-5) and
one way 2W/4W voice channel with adjustable attenuation.
MAC: provide magnet telephone interface. Each card provides one channel.
CARC: Provide the interface for conversion from 2W carrier wave interface
2100hz signaling to 25Hz ringing current. One channel for each card.

BX10_FXOC
It has level adjusting switches at the transmit and receive directions. There are
4 jumpers in the vertical direction, forming the upper group and lower group.
The upper groups are regulating switches in the transmitting direction and the
lower groups are the regulating switches for the receiving direction. 4dB
interface level attenuation could be added to corresponding direction via the
regulating switches. See the following figures for the position of the short
circuitor and it is 0dB level attenuations.

29 , 40
BX10_EMC
The meanings of the panel indicator lights are the same as that of CHUFXOC
and CHUFXSC.
EMC decides to use which one of the five types of cards through jumper
switch.
The way of setting single channel of EMC is given below and it is the same
for the remote end. Take 1E1M as an example, A3, A4, A6, A7, A8 are the
common control switches of E1M1 and E2M2. It is the same for the 2E2M
setting.
A. Set it to the first type of EM: apply short circuitor to A3; do not apply short
circuitor to A4, A6, A7 and A8; plug short circuitor into the lower half of
SW1. Line E and line F of this board are connected with line E and line M of
the exchange respectively, and E is connected with M, M with E and SB with
SG when connecting with user equipment, as shown in the right figure:
30 , 40
B. set it to the second type of EM: apply short circuitor to A7; do not apply
short circuitor to A3, A4, A6 and A8; plug short circuitor into the lower half of
SW1. Line E and line M of this board are linked with line E and line M of the
exchange directly, and SG and SB are connected with the SG and SB of the
exchange directly. When connecting with the user equipment, E is connected
with M, M is connected with E and SB and SG lines are connected directly, as
shown below:
31 , 40
C. set it to the third type of EM: apply short circuitor to A3 and A7; do not
apply short circuitor to A4, A6 and A8; plug short circuitor into the lower half
of SW1. Line E and line M of this board are linked with line E and line M of
the exchange directly, and SG and SB are connected with the SG and SB of
the exchange directly. When connecting with the user equipment, E is
connected with M, M is connected with E and SB and SG lines are connected
directly, as shown below:
32 , 40
D. set it to the fourth type of EM: apply short circuitor to A6; do not apply
short circuitor to A3, A4, A7 and A8; plug short circuitor into the upper half of
SW1. Line E and line M of this board are linked with line E and line M of the
exchange directly, and SG and SB are connected with the SG and SB of the
exchange directly. When connecting with the user equipment, E is connected
with M, M is connected with E and SB and SG lines are connected directly, as
shown below:
33 , 40
E. Set it to the fifth type of EM: apply short circuitor to A3; do not apply short
circuitor to A4, A6, A7 and A8; plug short circuitor into the upper half of
SW1. Line E and line M of this board are linked with line E and line M of the
exchange directly, and SG and SB are connected with the SG and SB of the
exchange directly. When connecting with the user equipment, E is connected
with M, M is connected with E and SB and SG lines are connected directly, as
shown below:
34 , 40
The exact arrangement of E/M is also shown on the sick screen print of the
EMC.
Notice:
The EMC may be set to certain type by strictly following the aforementioned
method and it should be checked carefully. The machine board may be burnt if
the short circuitor is wrongly plugged! It is strictly prohibited to plug and pull
the EMC.
BX10_MAC
Like 2W4WCHUC, MAC also has transmit level setting switches and receive
level setting switches (24 pin jumpers-S1, S2). The transmit level and the
receive level could be adjusted respectively and the way of level setting is the
same as that for 2W4WCHUC (Note: only 2W mode is provided and there is
no 4W mode)
BX10_CARC
Like 2W4WCHUC, CARC also has transmit level setting switches and
receive level setting switches (24 pin jumpers-S1, S2). The transmit level
35 , 40
and the receive level could be adjusted respectively and the way of level
setting is the same as that for 2W4WCHUC (Note: only 2W mode is provided

2.7 DATA
Classification: DATA, 10BASE-T Ethernet interface card, RS232/485 data
interface card, V.35 synchronous data interface card.
2.7.1 DATA
Functional Description:
1.
Each DATA provides four slots for V.35 data interface card, 10BASE T Ethernet interface card and RS232/485 data interface card.
2.
The DATA does not provide any interface, but it may be added with
interface cards. For instance, it could provide V.35 interface with v.35
data interface card plugged, RS232/485 data interface with RS232/485
interface card plugged and 10BASE-T Ethernet interface with
10BASE-T Ethernet interface card plugged. The above three kinds of
cards may be plugged into the same data interface board. The data
board could provide four V.35 interfaces, four 10BASE - T Ethernet
interfaces and eight RS232/485 interfaces at most.
Notice: RS232 data port should be well grounded or serial port isolator
is added so that RS232 data port will not be burnt out.
