Parce que même quand les beaux jours arrivent il faut se couvrir
quand le soleil se couche, il fallait à la collection Sew me the Sun une
jolie veste. Et c’est sur un blouson façon teddy que j’ai pensé pour
enrichir le vestiaire Maison Fauve.
Un blouson qui a les détails qui le rendent unique : un très beau col à
porter relever ou rabattu, un bas de manche qui ne sera pas élastiqué
mais avec une bande pour une note moins sport, et la possibilité de
coudre SUNSET en version tout tissu ou avec des finitions bord côte
pour donner à votre vêtement un style qui vous correspond.
Les jolies finitions et points techniques : le blouson SUNSET est doublé,
avec des poches passepoilées (au montage simplifié), un zip sous patte,
des manches raglans avec des liens bas de manche sous passant, un
montage du col en incrustation sur le devant.

Taille: 34 au 46, pour une stature de 1m65.
Choix du tissu:
Un tissu coton ou satin de coton avec de la tenue, un jean , un lainage
très léger, un jacquard, du tweed, un prince de Galles…des tissus de
poids moyen, voire des combinaisons de tissus pour contraster les
manches.
Pour la doublure il faut un tissu adapté surtout pour les manches afin
de pouvoir enfiler sans entrave votre blouson (un tissu un peu glissant).

Because even when the good weather arrives you have to wrap up when the
sun sets, the Sew me the Sun collection needed a pretty jacket. And it was a
teddy-style jacket that I thought of to enrich the Maison Fauve wardrobe.
A jacket that has details that make it unique: a beautiful collar to wear turned
up or folded down, a cuff that is not elasticated but with a strap for less of a
sporty feel, and the option to sew SUNSET in any fabric version or with
ribbed finishes to give your garment a style that suits you. Buttoned or zipped
under the flap, the choice is yours!
The finishing touches and technical aspects : the SUNSET jacket is lined, with
welt pockets (a simplified assembly), a zip under tab, raglan sleeves with
belted cuffs, a collar and a belt overlayed at the front.

Size: from 34 to 46, for a heigth of 1m65
Choice of fabrics:
A cotton or cotton satin fabric which holds, denim, very light weight
wool, jacquard, tweed, a Prince of Wales check ... medium weight fabrics,
even combinations of fabrics to contrast on the sleeves.
For the lining, you need a suitable fabric, especially for the sleeves, so that
you can put your jacket on easily (a slightly slippery fabric).

Les poches passepoilées : voici la partie technique de votre
blouson, alors on souffle un grand coup, on lit bien tout (et si
vous voulez être à l’aise et que pour vous les poches
passepoilées sont une grande première, entrainez-vous avec
une chute), et si vous suivez bien les étapes tout ira bien !
Il faut au préalable parfaitement reporter vos repères aussi bien
sur vos pièces devant du blouson que sur vos poches. C’est le
respect strict de ces repères qui vous assurera un beau
montage et une poche passepoilée dont vous serez fier !
Si votre tissu est fragile ou risque de s’effilocher entoilez
l’emplacement de votre poche sur l’envers du buste devant.
La particularité du montage que je vais vous proposer est que
vos poches passepoilées seront réalisées sans passepoil. C’est
votre pièce fond de poche tissu (pièce 8) qui à l’assemblage va
jouer le rôle de passepoil.
Posez endroit contre endroit votre poche tissu sur le bas de
votre tracé de poche en faisant correspondre la ligne de
couture (votre pièce poche dépasse de part et autre de 1.5 cm
du tracé de la poche sur le buste, cousez de part et autre des
crans marqués sur le tracé de la poche). Cousez.
Faites de même pour la portion fond de poche doublure que
vous cousez sur le haut de votre tracé de poche buste. Là aussi
référez-vous aux crans pour débuter et finir la couture.
Découpez selon le tracé du schéma ci-après entre vos lignes de
couture, en terminant en petits triangles de 1.5 cm de haut au
plus près des angles de votre tracé de poche (n’hésitez pas à
tracer au préalable, et incisez délicatement le tissu avec votre
découd vite ou un petit ciseau de brodeuse).

The welt pockets: this is the technical part of your jacket, so
take a deep breath and read everything (and if welt pockets
are a first for you and you want to do them with confidence
practice on a scrap), and if you follow the steps everything will
be fine!
You must first transfer your marks perfectly to both your front
pieces of the jacket and your pockets. It is the strict
compliance of these benchmarks that will ensure a beautiful
assembly and a welt pocket of which you will be proud!
If your fabric is delicate or is likely to fray, reinforce the
location of your pocket with interfacing on the back of the
front bust.
The speciality of the assembly that I am going to show you is
that your welt pockets will be made without actual welt
pieces. It is your fabric pocket bag piece (piece 8) which
during assembly will play the role of the welt.
Place your pocket fabric on the bottom of your pocket layout
right sides together, by matching the seam line (your pocket
piece protrudes on both sides by 1.5 cm from the layout of the
pocket on the bust, sew on both sides of the notches marked
on the pocket outline). Sew.
Do the same for the pocket bag lining portion that you sew on
the top of your bust pocket line. Here too, refer to the notches
to start and finish sewing.
Cut according to the layout of the diagram below between
your seam lines, ending in small triangles 1.5 cm big as close as
possible to the corners of your pocket layout (feel free to trace
it out beforehand, and delicately cut the fabric with your
stitch ripper or a small embroidery scissor).
Introduisez vos pièces poches par l’ouverture et retournez
votre pièce poche passepoil de sorte à ce que le repère
pliure vienne « obstruer » l’ouverture… magie l’effet
passepoil apparait (quand vous procédez ainsi vos 2 pièces
poches doivent exactement se superposer).

assemblant vos poches (poche passepoil + fond de poche)
vous viendrez prendre ces triangles dans la couture, il
faudra alors piquer au plus près du triangle. Dégarnissez
l’excès de tissu sur le tour de votre poche et surfilez.
Assemblez vos pièces buste dos par la ligne milieu dos
endroit contre endroit. Ouvrez la couture au fer à repasser
Les passants : votre planche de patron comprend les
emplacements de 4 passants (2 manche devant, 2 manche
dos). Pour confectionner vos passants, venez replier votre
bande de passant selon le schéma en rabattant sur l’envers.
Pliez à nouveau votre bande en 2 dans le sens de la
longueur, repassez bien, et piquez au milieu de votre
bande de passant.
Découpez 4 passants de taille égale sur vos bandes.
En vous référant aux repères du patron sur les manches,
venez positionner vos passants : repliez sur 2 cm environ
chaque extrémité du passant et assemblez sur l’endroit de
votre vêtement..
Insert your pocket pieces through the opening and turn

La ceinture :
Votre devant buste comporte un « décroché » que vous allez
venir cranter en biais. Epinglez votre ceinture sur le bas de
votre blouson endroit contre endroit, en laissant dépasser de
chaque côté la ceinture de 1 cm (en regard des crans que
vous venez de réaliser). Cousez sur tout le bas du blouson
jusqu’au cran et arrêtez votre couture par des points d’arrêt.
Pivotez votre ouvrage pour terminer la couture sur le « petit
» côté devant : votre cran permet de venir épingler bord à
bord endroit contre endroit la ceinture sur le buste.
Démarrez votre couture en positionnant l’aiguille sur votre
point d’arrêt et cousez.
la patte devant et le zip :
Votre blouson peut présenter 2 types de fermetures : un
boutonnage ou un zip séparable dissimulé sous une patte.
-la patte devant : thermocollez et cousez endroit contre
endroit vos pièces patte, en laissant un côté non assemblé.

For the fabric belt version
Iron your belt on the right side to mark the fold. Place your
elastic against the fold, "close" your belt by folding and

Your belt will be 1 cm shorter than your bust.
The belt:

your notch allows you to pin edge to edge. Sew to the
previous break point. Your belt is shorter than your front bust
piece by 1 cm.
The front flap and the zip:
Your jacket can have 2 types of closures: a button or a
separable zip hidden under a zip flap.
-the front flap: fuse your interfacing on and sew your flap
pieces right sides together, leaving one side unassembled.
Cousez bord à bord votre patte bord à bord sur l’endroit de
votre buste droit pour la version zippée, et sur le buste
gauche pour la version boutonnée (dans ce cas la bande
supportera les boutons tandis que vos boutonnières seront
cousues sur le buste droit) en vous aidant des crans de
montage : votre bande est plus courte que votre buste en
haut et en bas, car il faut respecter les marges de couture du
buste et de la parementure qui sera assemblée ensuite).
Posez votre zip séparable : il vous faut utiliser
un pied pour fermeture éclair ou à défaut un
pied ganseur. Ouvrez le zip intégralement.
Posez le bord à bord et endroit contre endroit
sur votre buste droit (par-dessus donc la
patte). Vous pouvez bâtir pour bien
immobiliser le zip avant la couture. Recourbez
la partie haute du zip. Cousez au plus près des
dents du zip. Fermez le zip avec la partie non
cousue, et épinglez sur le buste gauche.
Bâtissez votre zip gauche, pour être
parfaitement aligné lors de la couture.
Dézippez et cousez le zip gauche bord à bord
endroit contre endroit du devant gauche.
2/ LA DOUBLURE
Cousez la pince poitrine sur la pièce buste
devant.
Réalisez également le pli d’aisance selon les
crans sur le milieu devant de la doublure
buste.
Sew your flap to the right bust edge to edge on the right side for the
zipped version, and on the left bust for the buttoned version (in this
case the band will support the buttons while your buttonholes will be
sewn on the right bust) by using the assembly notches: your strip is
shorter than your upper and lower bust, because you have to respect
the seam allowances of the bust and the facing that will be assembled

Put on your separable zip: you need to use a zipper foot or, if
not, a piping foot. Open the zip all the way. Place it edge to
edge and right sides together on your right bust (therefore
over the flap).
You can tack to secure the zip before sewing. Bend the
upper part of the zip. Sew as close as possible to the teeth of
the zip. Close the zip with the part not sewn, and pin on the
left bust. Tack your left zip, to be perfectly aligned when
sewing. Unzip and sew the left zip edge to edge right sides
together to the left front.
2/ THE LINING
Sew the bust dart on the front bust piece. Also make the
pleat according to the notches on the middle front of the bust
lining.

Cousez la doublure dos sur les pièces manches
dos en vous référant bien aux crans de montage.
Venez terminer l’assemblage de votre doublure :
positionnez votre doublure endroit contre
endroit (manche devant sur manche dos, buste
devant sur buste dos), et épinglez depuis le
poignet, en progressant le long de la couture
dessous de bras de la manche et en continuant le
long des côtés du buste.
Montage de la doublure sur le blouson
Vous venez positionner votre blouson à plat
endroit face à vous, en plaquant bien le col
contre le buste. Vous positionnez votre doublure
sur l’envers, et épinglez endroit contre endroit la
doublure sur le blouson :
parementure sur buste devant, depuis le bas
devant droit, l’encolure avec le col à plat (qui
sera pris en sandwich entre le blouson et la
parementure), et en descendant jusqu’au bas
devant gauche.
Sew the back lining to the back sleeve pieces, referring
carefully to the assembly notches.
Complete the assembly of your lining:
position your lining right sides together (front sleeve on
back sleeve, front bust on back bust), and pin from the
wrists, progressing along the underarm seam of the sleeve
and continuing along the sides of the bust.
Lining mounting on the jacket
Put the sleeves of your jacket on the wrong side and lay
your jacket flat in front of you, pressing the collar firmly
against the bust.
You position your lining on the wrong side, and pin the
lining on the jacket right sides together: the facing on the
front bust, then from the bottom front right, the neckline
with the collar flat (which will be sandwiched between the
jacket and the facing), and down to the bottom left front.

Vous allez devoir ici aussi gérer le montage en
angle droit : votre parementure comporte un
angle que vous allez venir cranter en biais sur
environ 0.9 cm. Vous réussirez ainsi à bien
appliquer et retourner votre ouvrage. Votre
couture doit se superposer à la couture du col sur
le buste tissu pour ne pas être visible. Je vous
conseille de coudre avec l’envers du tissu face à
vous afin de pouvoir chevaucher aisément vos
coutures.
Comme pour la couture du col, cousez jusqu’à
votre angle cranté, et arrêtez votre couture par
des points d’arrêt, avant de pivoter et reprendre
la couture depuis le point d’arrêt.
Continuez votre couture le long de l’encolure et
arrivé à votre 2eme angle encolure
buste/parementure, arrêtez à nouveau la couture
puis pivotez. Terminez votre couture en
descendant le long du buste jusqu’en bas de la
parementure comme sur le schéma.
Venez maintenant épingler bord à bord votre bas
de manche tissu et votre bas de manche doublure
endroit contre endroit et vous piquez à 1 cm.
Vous obtenez un « tunnel » de manche qui une
fois retourné vous donnera votre bas de manche
avec la doublure bien en place mais ne retournez
toujours pas le vêtement sur l’endroit !

Here, you will also have to manage the assembly at

Continue your seam along the neckline and carry
on to your 2nd corner of the neckline bust /
facing, stop the seam again then rotate. Finish your
sewing by going down the bust to the bottom of
the facing as in the diagram.
Now pin your fabric sleeve cuffs to your lining
cuffs right sides together, edge to edge and stitch
to 1 cm.
You will get a sleeve "tunnel" which once turned
over will give you the bottom of your sleeve with
the lining in place, but don't turn the garment to
the right side yet!
Assemblage de la doublure sur le bas du
vêtement :
Bon, je ne vais pas vous mentir, là on n’est
pas sur la partie la plus facile…mais on
arrive au bout alors on lâche rien ! Ce
n’est pas une étape vraiment compliquée,
mais il faut réussir à se projeter dans les
différentes étapes, et pour ce faire nous
allons nommer les différentes parties du
vêtement à assembler A, B et C.

A’ : le petit côté du buste tissu assemblé
avec la ceinture
B : le bas de la parementure cousu avec le
buste tissu
C d : le bas de la doublure
C t : la zone assemblage tissu et ceinture
Voilà ce que cela donne sur l’endroit du
tissu (envers doublure) :
Et sur l’envers du tissu :
Vous allez pivoter votre ceinture pour
mettre en vis-à-vis A et A’ et C t et C d.
Votre cran entre A’ et C t vous donnera
suffisamment de laxité, et vous épinglez C
t et C d endroit contre endroit. Cousez,
en laissant quelques cm non assemblés le
long du bas de la doublure pour pouvoir
retourner votre vêtement sur l’endroit.
Lining assembly on the bottom of the garment:
Well, I'm not going to lie to you, this is not the
easiest part ... but you are almost at the end so
don’t give up! It's not a really complicated step,
but you have to successfully handle the
different steps, and to do this we will name the
different parts of the garment to be assembled
A, B and C.
A: the part of the unassembled facing beyond
the lining
A ’: the small side of the fabric bust assembled
with the belt
B: the bottom of the facing sewn with the
fabric bust
C d: the bottom of the lining
C t: the fabric and belt assembly area
Here is what it looks like on the right side of the
fabric (wrong side of the lining):
And on the back of the fabric:
You will pivot your belt to put it opposite A
and A’ and C t and C d. Your notch between A
’and C t will give you enough laxity, then pin C
t and C right sides together. Sew, leaving a few
inches unassembled along the bottom of the
lining so you can turn your garment over.

Dégarnissez les angles, et MAINTENANT…on retourne
tout le monde sur l’endroit et on repasse pour bien
plaquer la parementure et mettre en forme le bas des
manches.
En retournant la doublure rentre dans la manche et le
bas de la manche tissu également : c’est le rentré de
couture qui fait le bas de manche bien propre !).
Finitions :
Si vous avez choisi la version boutonnée du blouson,
il est temps de réaliser vos boutonnières et de coudre
vos boutons sur la patte devant.
Les passants bas de manche : selon que vous
souhaitez y poser un bouton ou utiliser une boucle
coulissante, coupez votre pièce à la dimension
souhaitée comme indiqué sur le patron. Réalisez
votre bande de passant en repliant endroit sur endroit
selon la ligne de pliure, cousez en laissant un petit
côté ouvert. Retournez sur l’endroit avec un retourne
biais et fermez votre bande par des points à la main.
Faites une boutonnière et cousez un bouton. Enfilez
la bande sur le bas de la manche.
Et bien voilà….bravo bravo bravo !!! Enfilez vite votre
blouson Sunset et frimez, vous avez le droit !

Trim the corners, and NOW… turn everything around
to the right side and iron to properly flatten the facing
and shape the bottom of the sleeves.
By turning, the lining will go into the sleeve and the
bottom of the fabric sleeve as well: the seam
allowance makes the bottom of the sleeve very
clean!).
Finishing Touches:
If you have chosen the buttoned version of the jacket,
it is time to make your buttonholes and sew your
buttons on the front flap.
The cuff belts at the bottom of the sleeve: depending
on whether you want to put a button on it or use a
sliding buckle, cut your piece to the desired size as
indicated on the pattern. Make your cuff belt by
folding right sides together according to the fold line,
sew leaving a small open side. Turn back to the right
side with a loop turner and close your cuff belt with
hand stitches. Make a buttonhole and sew a button.
Thread the strip on the bottom of the sleeve.
Well there you go…. Bravo bravo bravo !!! Quickly put
on your Sunset jacket and show it off, you have the
