 La définition du Lean Management  :

Le Lean Management est une expression anglo-saxonne dont le mot principal est évocateur. « Lean » signifie en
effet « sans superflu ». Cela fait écho à l’idée de réduire quelque chose à l’essentiel, à supprimer l’inutile, qui est
aux fondements de la méthode.
Inspiré du système de production de Toyota, le Lean Management est une méthode de gestion et d’organisation
du travail qui vise à améliorer les performances d’une entreprise et, plus particulièrement, la qualité et la
rentabilité de sa production.
Le Lean Management optimise les processus en réduisant les temps sans valeur ajoutée (opération ou transport
inutile, attente, surproduction, etc.), les causes de non-qualité et la complexité. Cette méthode est portée par une
dimension managériale importante qui permet aux collaborateurs de travailler dans les meilleures conditions. In
fine, deux objectifs principaux sont visés : la satisfaction complète des clients et le succès de chaque salarié.
 Les origines du Lean Management :

À la fin des années 1940, lorsque Toyota a posé les bases du « Lean Manufacturing », l’objectif était de réduire les
processus qui n’apportaient pas de valeur au produit final.
Ce faisant, les dirigeants ont réussi à obtenir des améliorations significatives en termes de productivité, d’efficacité, de
temps de cycle et de rentabilité.
Grâce à cet impact notable, la pensée Lean s’est répandue dans de nombreuses industries et a évolué vers 5 principes
de base de la gestion Lean tels que décrits par le Lean Management Institute.
