In French, countries have both gender and
number.

• To say you’d like to travel to a country with a masculine gender, you say:

e.g. Je voudrais voyager au Portugal

• To say you’d like to travel to a country with a feminine gender, you say:

e.g. Je voudrais voyager en France.

• To say you’d like to go to a country which is plural, you say:

e.g. Je voudrais aller aux Pays-Bas* (the Netherlands*)
