Textbook chapter 12: letter describing Paris

English translation:

Switzerland, June 15, 2014

Dear Nicolas,
Hello! All is well here and I hope the same there. I received your letter in which you asked me
to describe my city Paris. So, I am writing this letter to describe Paris. Paris is a very beautiful
city. It is the capital of France. It is in Europe. It is full of history. It is the economic and
commercial capital of France. The Seine flows under its thirty bridges and divides the city into
two parts: the left bank and the right bank. Paris is an old city and has twenty arrondissements.
There are a lot of monuments. Paris is very pretty at night when the monuments are
illuminated: this is why it is called the city of light. The climate in Paris is moderate. August is
the hottest month and January the coldest month. There are many things in Paris to see and
describe. You have to go here next year and see Paris. I am waiting for you. See you soon!
Kind regards
Eric
