Debido al alto número de solicitudes de asilo y con el fin de asegurar la

priorización de las personas más vulnerables, el ACNUR ha modificado el
procedimiento de registro y registrará solo a las personas más vulnerables y a
sus familiares más cercanos.
AVISO SOBRE PRE-REGISTRO
 Todas las personas, excepto ciudadanos de Trinidad y Tobago, pueden
seguir pre-registrándose con LWC y pueden solicitar su registro con el
ACNUR.
 Sólo las personas más vulnerables serán elegibles para ser registradas por el
ACNUR.
 LWC evaluará la elegibilidad para el registro durante la entrevista de pre-
registro.
 Las personas que son elegibles para el registro por parte del ACNUR serán
programadas para una entrevista de registro con el ACNUR por LWC y
recibirán un formulario de cita del ACNUR por parte LWC con la fecha de
su cita de registro.
 Las personas que no sean elegibles para el registro recibirán un certificado
del ACNUR por parte de LWC válido por 2 años y renovable por LWC en su
fecha de vencimiento.
 Las personas pre-registradas por LWC son solicitantes de asilo y personas
de interés del ACNUR y tienen el derecho permanecer en Trinidad y
Tobago y a no ser devueltas de forma forzada a un país en el que su vida o
libertad estén en riesgo. Si las personas dan su consentimiento, el ACNUR
compartirá sus datos personales con el Gobierno de Trinidad y Tobago para
informar que son personas de interés del ACNUR.

AVISO SOBRE REGISTRO

 Durante su entrevista de registro por parte del ACNUR, se le harán
preguntas sobre sus vulnerabilidades y las razones por las que
abandonó su país, y el ACNUR evaluará su elegibilidad para una
entrevista de determinación de la condición de refugiado.
 En su entrevista de registro, recibirá una tarjeta del ACNUR, que
confirmará su condición de persona de interés del ACNUR y, si el
ACNUR determina que usted es elegible para una entrevista de
determinación de la condición de refugiado, el ACNUR se
comunicará con usted para programar una cita para su entrevista de
determinación de la condición de refugiado.
 Las personas que ya están pre-registradas por LWC, tienen una cita
de registro con el ACNUR y no son muy vulnerables no serán
registradas por el ACNUR. El ACNUR informará a estas personas
sobre la cancelación de su cita de registro y recibirán un certificado
del ACNUR para confirmar que son personas de interés del ACNUR.

AVISO SOBRE ACTUALIZACIÓN DE DATOS

 Si ha cambiado de dirección en Trinidad y Tobago y/o de número de
teléfono, por favor envíe su nombre completo y sus datos de
contacto actualizados a ttoporeg@unhcr.org.

Due to the high number of asylum applications and in order to ensure a

timely prioritization of the most vulnerable persons, UNHCR will change
the registration procedure and will register only persons who are highly
vulnerable and their closest family members.
NOTICE ON PRE-REGISTRATION
Persons except citizens from Trinidad and Tobago can continue to be pre-
registered by LWC and to apply to be registered with UNHCR.
 Only highly vulnerable persons will be eligible to be registered by
UNHCR.
 Eligibility for registration will be assessed during the pre-registration
interview by LWC
 Persons who are eligible for registration by UNHCR will be scheduled
for a registration interview with UNHCR by LWC and will receive a
UNHCR appointment slip from LWC with the date of their registration
appointment.
 Persons who are not eligible for registration will receive a UNHCR
certificate from LWC valid for 2 years and renewable by LWC when it
expires.
 Persons pre-registered by LWC are asylum-seekers and persons of
concern to UNHCR and have the right to remain in Trinidad and
Tobago and to be protected from forcible return to a country where
they would face threats to their life or freedom. If persons provide
consent, UNHCR will share their biodata with the Government of
Trinidad and Tobago to inform that they are persons of concern to
UNHCR.

NOTICE ON REGISTRATION
 During your registration interview by UNHCR you will be asked
questions on your vulnerabilities and on the reasons why your left
your country, and UNHCR will assess your eligibility for a refugee
status determination interview.
 Upon your registration interview you will receive a UNHCR card,
which will confirm your status as a person of concern to UNHCR,
and - if UNHCR determines that you are eligible for a refugee status
determination interview - you may be contacted by UNHCR to
schedule a refugee status determination interview.
 Persons who are pre-registered already by LWC, have a registration
appointment with UNHCR and are not highly vulnerable will not be
registered by UNHCR. These persons will be informed by UNHCR
about the cancellation of their appointment and will receive a
UNHCR certificate to confirm that they are persons of concern to
UNHCR.
