I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards 1. Zeroth law of thermodynamics and Temperature measurement 2. Thermal expansion 3. Heat and heat capacity 4. Calorimetry 5. Mechanisms of heat
transfer
B. Performance Standard Solve multi-concept, rich context problems using concepts from rotational motion, fluids, oscillations, gravity, and thermodynamics.

C. Learning Explain the connection between the Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics, temperature, thermal equilibrium, and temperature scales
Competencies/ Convert temperatures and temperature differences in the following scales: Fahrenheit, Celsius, Kelvin
Define coefficient of thermal expansion and coefficient of volume expansion
Objectives Calculate volume or length changes of solids due to changes in temperature
Solve problems involving temperature, thermal expansion, heat capacity, heat transfer, and thermal equilibrium in contexts such as, but not limited to, the design of
bridges and train rails using steel, relative severity of steam burns and water burns, thermal insulation, sizes of stars, and surface temperatures of planets

G. REMARKS

H. REFLECTION Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your students’ progress this week. What works? What else
needs to be done to help the students learn? Identify what help your instructional supervisors can provide for you so when you meet
them, you can ask them relevant questions.
