What is CBT?
It is a training delivery approach that focuses
on the competency development of the learner as
a result of the training;
Principles of CBT
1.Learning is based on Competency-based Curriculum.

2.Learning is modular in structure.

3. Training is individualized and self-paced.

4. Training is based on the actual industry practice.


5. Training materials are directly related to the competency
standards and the curriculum.

6. Assessment is based in the collection of evidences of the


performance of work to the industry required standard.

7. Training is based both on and off the job components.


8. The system allows Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and or
current competencies.

9. Training allows multiple entry and exit.

10. Approved training programs are nationally accredited.


Roles of a CBT
Trainer
Role as a Trainer
Serves as a team member.

Stimulates trainees.

Facilitator of learning.

Diagnose and solves learning problems.


Evaluates student achievement.

Assist learners to obtain individualized rewards.

Assist each trainee in designing a personalized plan of study.

Installs confidence in the learner by providing experiences.


Role as a Trainee
Trainees may select what they want to learn and when they want
to learn it.

You may speed up or slow down, stop or repeat the task.

May request to receive credit for what they already know.

May choose how they want to learn – individual, group or large


group.
Responsible for what they learn and when they learn.

 Decide when they are ready to perform each task or


demonstrate mastery of learning.

Trainees compete against job standards.

Trainees knows “up front”


Evaluate your own progress

Trainees moves freely in the workshop.

Trainees learn according to their interest, needs and abilities


not according to teacher timelines and expediency.
