The points of demonstrative adjectives are “this/that,

these/those”.
Use of demonstrative adjectives in French:
If the noun will be “Masculine singular starts by any French
consonant then meaning of “This/that” will be Ce

Example: a. This boy Ce garçon

b. That dog Ce chien
a. Ce garçon est intélligent.
b. Ce chien est dangéreux.
2. If the noun will be “Masculine singular starts by any French vowel then
meaning of “This/that” will be : Cet
That man Cet homme.
This child (M.) Cet enfant
Cet homme est le frère de mon père.
Cet enfant est très actif.

3. For all feminine singular noun meaning of “ This /that” will

be : Cette.
This lady Cette dame.
That girl Cette fille.
Je sais cette dame.
Cette fille est une amie de ma sœur.
4. For all plural nouns, meaning of
“These/those” will be: Ces.
These students Ces étudiants
Those books Ces livres
J’enseigne ces étudiants.
Ces livres sont très intéressants.
